Gil: By that logic $3.30 gas can be justified. Or even $4. Are you utterly morally depraved? Nah, autistic is more likely.
This forum seems just... completely out of touch. As out of touch as the U.S. is with Iraq. (hell, people here probably voted for Bush en mass! Or at least, didn't vote for Kerry).

I voted for Michael Badnarik. But I really wanted to vote for Hu Jintao. Sadly, he cannot run in the United States for obvious reasons :(
Shining example of how the system works - whether you agree with the prices or are pissed about them or not is completely irrelevant. Are you putting any thought into your examples before you eat your foot?tcaudilllg2 wrote:By that logic $3.30 gas can be justified. Or even $4.
Out of curiosity, how much do you think it cost to produce all of those cartridges?
On what logical leap do you make that assumption?tcaudilllg2 wrote:This forum seems just... completely out of touch. As out of touch as the U.S. is with Iraq. (hell, people here probably voted for Bush en mass! Or at least, didn't vote for Kerry).
Why yes, my shift key *IS* broken.

You're talking as if the people of the US only had options.tcaudilllg2 wrote:This forum seems just... completely out of touch. As out of touch as the U.S. is with Iraq. (hell, people here probably voted for Bush en mass! Or at least, didn't vote for Kerry).

Considering they contracted the work, probably not that much. The collectors ' theme packaging probably contributed a lot more to the cost. I imagine the cart was pretty cheap considering the price of the memory chips.Out of curiosity, how much do you think it cost to produce all of those cartridges?
My point, again, was that they did not take advantage of the superior method of online distribution. I'm not criticising their business model -- it was experimental --, but only saying that it should not be repeated even though the idea commercially publishing RPG translations should itself be further pursued.
As for the gas situation, when the oil execs are wearing striped suits in a prison cell (a virtual certainty during Obama's term -- the liberals will delight in Big Oil's subjugation) we'll see how much their business model profited them. On that note, I urge you to sell your oil holdings (if you have any...)... now, because starting next year oil will be a much less lucrative option....
Isn't it obvious?odditude wrote:On what logical leap do you make that assumption?
Through the rejection of Social Liberalism, Neoconservatism supports militant anti-communism. As Ira Chernus argues, human nature is inherently selfish, and with no commonly accepted religion or traditional moral values, society will end up in a war of all against all. This is personified in the conflict with the Sunnis and the Shi'ites in Iraq at this very moment.
If you contrast this with the Jungian archetypes, you'll see how the collective unconscious imprints an irrational subjective response to libertarian and democratic views. This leads to a form of Marxian economics, where a Laissez-faire economy simply cannot be sustained solely through division of labor alone. Instead, consider a neoclassical approach where people have a rational preference which can be identified through value. As such, individuals maximize utility and profit. Such methodological individualism through a form of microeconomics, such as C&E inc's Beggar Prince, represents a distinct economic subjectivism reaching toward general equillibrium.
Leon Walras, for instance, noted that the interaction of markets was far more suitable for explaining this phenomenon than the individual psyche through a hedonistic psychology.
By personifying the Proleteriat from the Bourgeoisie, as the members of this forum are doing, it is clearly showing its bias toward fundamentalist economics of scale, favoring both ignorance of the situation in Iraq, as well as condemnation of democratic principles, approaching a priori aptitude. Ergo, by voting for John Kerry, the Anima could not cope with the Animus.
I hope it's clear to you now why everyone here voted for Bush en masse.

Sorry guys, a little off topic.
But back on the virtual-console.
I think its a RIP OFF!!!!!
Me, i'm gonna get myself a Viper Extreme, and do my snes/nes emulation on my GameCube!!!!
I'd use my Wii, but i don't know how easy it is to use "nonvirtual-console" emulators on it.

And now we're into politics. Hyperliberal politics too.
It takes a special kind of person to turn a misguided critique of the Genesis collectibles market(make no mistake, homebrew carts are sold as collectibles) into a political rant.
BTW.... Kerry was a dipshit. Just like Gore before him.
I was really disappointed in the democrats for throwing so many far better candidates on the trash heap in favor of someone who simply couldn't appeal to the mainstream voter, but toed the party line a lot better.
Many states have higher minimum wages.
I would assume anyone with the funds to immigrate legally is not working for anything near minimum wage.
Of course, the fact that tcaudillitard2 thinks homebrew retrogaming titles target teens flipping burgers at McDonalds says a lot about his perspective.

That's the federal minimum wage.Clements wrote:Wow. Actually, a lot of people are on point, except for some of the obvious sarcasm in some posts that you can't seem to make heads or tails of.tcaudilllg2 wrote:This forum seems just... completely out of touch.
It's nice when you make assumptions about people you don't know. We could easily call you HITLER, and be done with it, but that would just be cruel. However, everyone's called you an idiot, and given by the content of your posts and every possible negative reaction that the ongoing opinion that you are an idiot must be true! Unless there's some mind control being done or aliens have infested the forums, you could believe what you want to believe, and noone will give a fuck.As out of touch as the U.S. is with Iraq. (hell, people here probably voted for Bush en mass! Or at least, didn't vote for Kerry).
Here's a lesson in Supply and Demand:
tcaudilllg2 has a supply of useless information that he wants to spread to some form.
The demand for useless information is non-existant, except according to tcaudillag2!
For some strange reason, tcaudillag2 continues to advertise and promote useless information.
Yet, the demand hasn't changed! However, in tcaudillag2's world, the demand has increased tenfold, even though noone has taken anything seriously!
Conclusion, what does this all mean?
Thread lockage!
It has zero to do with political affiliation or opinion. It has everything to do with not actually answering Gil's points and giving useless retorts that have nothing to address his answers.
Admin edit: lock would have been awesome if you had stopped right after 'hitler'

I know this was locked, but I had to have a final say regarding the initial post.
Beggar's Prince is not a ripoff considering:
a) It is a brand new Genesis game (it was only released a year or so ago)
b) It comes with all the standard packaging you would expect of a standard game release (box, manual, proffessionally printed cart label)
c) The limited run was due to the fact that this was a homebrew title
d) this game was aimed at the hardcore gamer market (which covets actual items)
e) It is supposed to be an excellent rpg (not really a genesis fan myself)
f) It retails at the same price as a standard GBA/ DS game
g) they did two print runs and they both sold out. Doesn't sound like fans thought it was overpriced.
Besides which, I'm sure you can find the rom on the standard networks. What the hell were you complaining about? Jealous maybe?
