No More Heroes is fun as shit. Odin Sphere gets old pretty fast, maybe because it's repetiveness isn't as "fun" as No More Heroes' brutal manslaughter.

No More Heroes is fun, and has a nice quirkyness to it.

Odin Sphere is pretty, and fun for the first few hours before quickly becoming boring.

Agreed, it's an orgasm of beautiful artwork and pretty ladies.

But it get's very boring after an hour.

I forgot to add, No More Heroes is ALSO repetitive, but it's a REALLY entertaining repetitiveness. It's a weird sensation.

So true. I think the humor in the game just makes up for it. (Rank 5 battle anyone?)

No More Heroes is possibly the ONLY "hack and slash" game that I've really enjoyed. It's SO fucking awesome.

So... these two are pretty awesome.

About done with nmh, only thing left is gathering the hugeass bucks to buy every shit shirt I'll never wear plus a couple gold medals on those fuck hard missions.
Been a while since I played a game that batshit crazy. Henry was way too easy compared to Jeane, though. I was expecting more oomph.

Just started treebitch's scenario in odin sphere, this game fits my tastes in pretty much every aspect. Exploitable levelling system is fun and addictive - I usually level by chunks of 15552 exp at a time from chapter 3 on. :D

So... yeah. Gonna resume shooting morons with my crossbow of doom that makes getting items so fucking easy now.

Nothing really hard, you know... the usual drill.

Just stock up on 9x-materials until you get 8 napple seeds, then it's just a matter of gulping the resulting 16 napples after a shot of yogurt (324 * 3 * 2 * 8 = 15552).
You end up with 16 cores, which is enough to make another 3-4 9X-materials, and going, and going...
Hell, I just got quick grow. Man, this game just owns itself.

Exp is even easier, seriously. Grab materials from random encounters, turn them into 98-materials, then X time, ad nauseam.

Honestly, it's been months since I last touched Odin Sphere, and I don't remember most of it. When I pick it back up again I'll be going into the black knight guy's quest, and I'm really not looking forward to it. Can you go into a *bit* more detail? :/

Ehh... ok ? Back to the basics...

The higher the material's tens digit, the more phozons you get upon recipe completion. Namely, 30 for 9X recipes. So you kinda want these to make lots of stuff grow (unless you have a quick grow potion).

Napples are the high-end exp fruit. Feeding 18 phozons to a napple seed yield 2 napples. Each fruit can be eaten thrice, and each bite is worth 250 exp.

Yogurt is made from any even material + milk. It boosts exp granted by food. You get 3 doses with each bottle, but milk is rather rare (also I'm a cheap bastard and buy the least I can), so you want to maximise each dose's use.
The effect wears off when you leave the area. It pumps each napple bite up to 324 exp, which makes 972 exp per napple, thus delivering 15552 exp for 16 napples.

So I usually just fill a large bag (8 slots) with napple seeds grabbed here and there, and build 9X materials at the same time (using 4 base materials, usually, but 3 is possible if you have useless potions lying around).
You'll need 144 phozons, either five 9X recipes or four + a couple rosemills. If you can dish out that amount, plant the seeds, make the recipes, drink yogurt, and don't forget to wait for each tree to produce the 2 napples before harvesting.

Alternative, go farm some troll molars and make quick grow potions. Much easier especially if you have little storage. Plant the 8 seeds and boom, instant food.
Eight's the max you can plant at the same time, but nothing prevents you from redoing it after a round's done.

Now for psypher exp. You want the luck up and exp up accessories.
You need a place with a healthy supply of habaneristos (the fire mandragora, remember), and enemies dropping seeds and 00 materials.
Equip the luck charm, go in circles through the various areas defeating random respawning mobs and grabbing everything they drop (down+attack to make them drop stuff).
Make 98-materials (see below), then mix with a haba to make an X potion + 30 phozons. Use it, equip the exp charm, and absorb the goodies. Resume moving in circles.
Also, whenever your psypher gauge gets too high, lower it with by liberating phozons that you'll reabsorb.

98-materials:

Code: Select all

I: 00M + haba -> cooler + 2 phozons (hey, every single one helps)
II: 00M + seed -> 01M
 01M + haba -> 02M
 02M + seed -> 03M
 03M + cooler -> 06M
 06M + seed -> 07M
III: 07M + 07M -> 49M
 49M + cooler -> 98M
Needed: base material * 5, seed * 6, haba * 5

Jeane was interesting to fight. Youtube her fast-forwarded speech on YouTube. It's quite interesting.

This may seem like a dumb question, but what system is no more heroes on? PS2 or PS3? I know Odin Sphere is on the PS2, but haven't really bothered to pick it up.

It is for the Wii and IMO it is not as great as people say. I found Odin Sphere to be more entertaining even with it's repetitive game play. I hope that Oroboro Muramasa does the trick if it is released on USA by Xseed or Atlus.
