Older pc games worth playing
Hey everybody,
Just got an Asus eee pc and I'm looking for some older decent pc games worth playing.
You can name imports but try to name stuff thats still aviable to find by purchasing it not downloading it.
The spec on the eee are
900mhz
2GB of ram
Integrated intel
It can run tons of stuff but i'm looking for more suggestions
The craziest thing its pulled off running is half life 2.
Anyways i'm looking for stuff i might of over looked so think more obscure.

If you're on an Eee comp, and are asking for games, I assume you either nuked the hdd and got rid of the linux distro that would have been installed on it by default and installed Windows, or made some space and are dual-booting with Windows.
Suggestions:
Age of Empires, Age of Empires 2, Age of Empires 3.
Age of Mythology, Age of Mythology: The Titans (expansion pack).
Empire Earth, Empire Earth 2.
Command and Conquer - Red Alert
Fable
Quake 3 Arena
Iron Storm
Starcraft
...those are the only PC games I've ever really played a lot, and ultimately, all that I can recommend.

Are you looking for Abandonware or just old games? In that regard, I loved Rise of the Triad, all of LucasArts' Graphic Adventures (DoTT, Fate of Atlantis, Full Throttle). Played Psychonauts yet? King's Quest?
The MechWarrior franchise also kicked ass, and put Descent 1, 2 and 3 in there too (3 is INSANELY difficult). If you want a good pretty much unknown game, look for The Ur-Quan masters (originally from the 3DO).
If u like Dungeon crawlers, download ZangBand. I've never been able to get to the bottom floor.

But only because I have to plug PC Battlezone as well. The bastard child of a FPS and an RTS. With hovertanks! And commies! On the moon!

I'm a DOS game freak, so here's some suggestions.
I'll say anything by Apogee (Raptor, Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure, Realms of Chaos, Duke Nukem 1, 2, and 3D, the Kroz series, BioMenace, Crystal Caves, Secret Agent, Major Stryker, Monster Bash, Stargunner, the Keen series, Blake Stone, Alien Carnage, Wacky Wheels, Boppin', Death Rally) or Epic Megagames (Tyrian, Jill of the Jungle, Xargon, Kiloblaster, Jazz Jackrabbit, One Must Fall 2097, Zone 66, Epic Pinball, Seek and Destroy, Radix, Overkill, Dare to Dream, Solar Winds, Castle of the Winds).
There's also the Sierra and Legend adventure games, id's first person shooters, most anything by Bullfrog (Dungeon Keeper, Magic Carpet, Populous), the Goldbox AD&D games, the Ultima series, Wizardry series, Might and Magic series, any of the Lemmings games, MDK 1 and 2, Carmageddon 1 and 2, C&C, Warcraft, Starcraft, God of Thunder, Jetpack, and Warlords.
Also, you might want to check out Home of the Underdogs (if you can tolerate 2-20 kbps) or Abandonia.
My PC childhood right there for the most part.

Planescape: Torment.
Probably the best RPG of all time.
And if you want VERY obscure and old, Escape Velocity (Escape Velocity Nova is the only game in the series for windows, but it has mods to convert it to the other 2 games).

i'll just throw in BG, icewind dale, *craft, diablo II, deus ex, giants: citizen kabuto, and homeworld.
in case any of those weren't known about. hopefully the integrated graphics do alright with the 3D titles, they're all pretty old-ish

Here's a few interesting quirky FPSes for you. Rather then listen to my horrid explanation of either of them I'll just let you look at the wikipedia entires for them. I had an extremely hard time with the no one lives forever games. Still it doesn't detract from how much fun they are. I think for tron 2.0 I brought into the funky glowing effects and the fact that I liked the old Disney movie. It's still a decent game though.
