There is a sound problem in Sonic 3. When the aircraft appears to drop bombs on you at the end of zone 1 act 2 there are some clipping artifacts in the audio. This occurs using both the 44100 and 48000 sampling rates and the SuperHQ setting has no effect on it either.
I logged a wav dump which is available here.

Yes, you're right. I noticed this on older versions and forgot to test this yesterday. Thanks a lot.ArtVandelae wrote:There is a sound problem in Sonic 3. Hi,Kettenhund wrote:Hi there,
i don't know if it's a bug since i haven't played the game for some time on the real machine now, but the voice in "Mega Turrican" that says "Data East" in the Intro sounds a bit pitched down. Going to try now on real hardware...
Edit: The sound, that appears on the Factor 5 Logo sounds a bit pitched down as well. The intro music that follows plays fine.
Thanks for the report. I have found the fix for it. I'll include it in the next version. Any more games with sound problems?
BTW, I'll also see the Sonic 3 sound problem.

Check other Data East games, like Dashin' Desperadoes and Captain America And The Avengers.AamirM wrote:Hi,Kettenhund wrote:Hi there,

I know this is kinda stupid to ask, but I was wondering: is there any chance to see a port of Regen for Linux ? There aren't many good and accurate genesis emus under linux (the Gens port is quite outdated and bugged, SDLMESS seems the best alternative but it's emulation level is not so good). It's just so sad that genesis is not so popular among linux emus developpers...

Use thisin the meantime if you want, it's much more stable than the last Gens release on the official site.juetroll wrote:I know this is kinda stupid to ask, but I was wondering: is there any chance to see a port of Regen for Linux ? I bring the trouble.
Ok, thanks a lot ! Anyway, does the CVS .deb include the ati patch (I've got an ati mobility x700 and using fglrx 8.4) ?DancemasterGlenn wrote:Use thisin the meantime if you want, it's much more stable than the last Gens release on the official site.

I wouldn't mind making a website for you. Despite this, however, you could probably make a nice website by yourself using wordpress.AamirM wrote:Anybody here wants to make a small web about my emus? My current one page website sucks.

Thats nice of you and your friend but I already have a very nice host. I just want someone to make the small website.Aaron wrote:I wouldn't mind making a website for you. Oh. I'll make the website for you on your host, then. Would you mind using Drupal or WordPress? Both are very good for blogs and support "static" (but easily changeable) pages, which seems to be perfect for the type of website you want. I can use other server-side software for your pages, as well...AamirM wrote:Thats nice of you and your friend but I already have a very nice host. Hi,
as long as it looks good. Asking about web stuff from me is not a very good idea
. I have very less knowledge about web programming and my friends have deemed me useless because of this
.

Just a few small questions about the "coming soon" linux release: will it use opengl ? If so, will it be ok with ati cards ? I know it may sound a bit off topic, but ati users like me, who are more or less forced to use the "crappy as hell" fglrx drivers will surely understand my concern. For some reasons, these terrible drivers aren't very friendly with many emus on Linux (ZSNES, GENS, SDLMAME - though it has recently improved for this one - and others).
This being said, next time I buy a PC, I'll definitely switch to a more "Linux friendly" video card !
