Yes it was a poor example. The point I.S.T. should have tried to make, was that we all realize how bad it sounds and it didn't need commenting at.

PS3 is region free!!

How about DS? I have a friend who has DS, and he has the J version of FFIV, I wonder if he needed a "chiped" for that?

I think every (mass-market, thank you Ben Heck fans)portable system in the history of man is region-free.

PS3's are region free for gaming. so you could get the japanese version of a game and play it on a european ps3.

and I'm pretty sure there are many sites that ship games worldwide to customers.

And I don't think I would get a PS3 anyway, I have been a fan of Sony's consoles since the PS, but after having numerous horrible experiences with the PS2, and having heard bad things about the PS3 (for example, so to cut down costs in Australia, I heard the PS3's released over here doesn't have PS2 hardware for backwards compatibility, but instead it has a crappy emulator which is only compatible with about 40% of commercial games.) I'm leaning more towards getting a Wii anyway. One of the big selling points for me is the backwards compatibility with the game cube, at last I can play Metroid Prime and all the Resident Evil's that only came out on that console, not to mention a bunch of other kick ass games.

Oh and I don't like Bill Gates, so I try to avoid giving him money whenever possible, so no 360 for me.

IIRC, they killed off using PS1 and PS2 chips for every region, not just Australia. Currently, the 80 GB SKU can do PS1/2 emulation, while the 40 GB SKU can play some PS1 games. Oh yeah, your 40% statement is wrong. It's more like 80%.

You know, Bill Gates isn't an evil person as most people think. He actually donates a lot of his money (in billions) to many donations.

Huh, last I heard we were the only ones getting hit with the emulator.

So why didn't they make San Andreas GTA 4 and Liberty Stories GTA 5 and then this one GTA 6? Doesn't make much sense to me. Probably same reason they made Contra DS, Contra 4 instead of Contra 5 after Neo Contra.

Actually I got it all wrong, Vice City which is actually the only one I finished should have been GTA4. Hence GTA 4 as of now being GTA 7. Yeah I dunno why but shouldn't it have been GTA 4 Vice City, GTA 5 San Andreas, GTA 6 Liberty Stories, then GTA 7? And GTA San Andreas I know wasn't the same as GTA 3, because CTA 3 had a white guy and GTA San Andreas starred a black guy.
