Games go slow framerate when there is alot action.

Post by Ches »

Hello everyone,

Let me introduce me a bit first:
My name is Ches(no really? :O)
Im from The Netherlands
27 years old and a retro gamer.

I've been using Zsnes 1.51 for some time now, and there's one thing that just annoys me, and that is when i play for example mario world the frames drops on some points in the game.

Like when u completed some levels with the color ! bricks alot of those bricks appear on the world map for a few seconds, thats where i can alot framedrops for a second, also the sound goes at the same speed as my frames i think.

Also i noticed it on Contra3 when i use the big explosion, everything goes slow for a few seconds until the bomb is over.

My setting are at 1024x768 with supersai x2 tripple bufferin and high res mode 7 at full screen stretched.

My sound is at 44100khz with simulate surround sound on, (all other default)

My system config is like this:

Athlon 64 3800+
1GB ddr ram
Geforce 7600 GT with 169.21 drivers
Windows XP with SP3

I hope this is enough info about me and the problem. :)

Cheers, Ches

It's a known issue... at least the SMW thing. Use an older version or SNES9x or bsnes or SNESGT until it's fixed.

Wait, I always thought that was just an in-game effect. I've never played contra 3 on the actual SNES game before so I just assumed it was just supposed to do that. Was I wrong?

Contra 3 is supposed to do that. It did it on the original cart as well.
