I never thought 60 fps was possible
Something I found strange about a recent Mother 3 translation update on youtube http://youtube.com/watch?v=ABczoJJQS34&feature=related
...It was the fact that 60 frames per second was somehow encoded. I thought that doing so was impossible with codecs (especially on youtube, saying as they often down convert to make it playable). Am I wrong to assume it's not possible? If so, what codec(s) do you use to do that?

Obviously, since you just proved that it IS possible.neo_bahamut1985 wrote:Am I wrong to assume it's not possible?
PLEASE reread what you've typed before you hit the post button, so you don't end up looking like you don't know your ass from a hole in the ground because you worded a legitimate question stupidly.
Why yes, my shift key *IS* broken.

I don't know where you heard that, but US Digital Broadcasts (which use form of MPEG2 ) can output in 720p (and 1080i) if they want provided the media is capable. My point is that 720p is equal to 1280px by 720px at 60 refreshes per second or what you thought was impossible, is possible. Not to mention 1080p video on BluRay or Digital Media Files.

ATSC actually spec'ed 1080p as well, but it can't be broadcast at more than 30 FPS due to bandwidth restrictions on the channels.
Of course, 1080p/60 is still an actual part of the spec, unlike progressive-scan NTSC.
