Turbine
Turbino

... That's all that comes to mind right now.

Nah, it will turn up more websites when someone googles it than Turbo Engine  . Besides it will create too much confusions. Consider the following situations:

In the readme -- "Rape will use your joy stick"
In the resume -- "Did RAPE"

Girlfriend -- "Whats the most greatest thing you've done?"
AamirM -- "RAPE"

"Rape will play any game you like"

Based on rape, here's a good name, APE (APE is a PC-Engine Emulator).
Now, recursive anronyms are cool, but APE could also stand for "AdmirM's PC-Engine Emulator" or "A PC-Engine Emulator".

Here are some other ideas:
(I'll keep editing this post as I think of new ideas)
- PEE (PC Engine Emulator)
- SOUP (SOUP Or Unofficial PC-Engine?) -- not a really good one, but hey, it's still an idea.
- EPIC (EPIC PC-Engine In a Computer).
- RAT (Real Ass TurboGrafx)
EDIT:
...best I could think of, but APE is a much better name than these.

Still, why don't people dare try something different? Sure, a name like RAPE has its connotations, but seriously, its just a sequence of letters. Whats the big deal? Oooh wai.....people don't have a sense of humour.

I'll rephrase. it's hard to get a rape joke funny without being offensive to the point of negating the humor. A good example of rape jokes being done right was done in something positive, a web comic.

At least that's how it's been in my experience.

Most emulators I've tried on Linux (including mine), no matter how good at the emulation, have coughed up furballs. Either the sound or video won't be good. The only emulator on Linux with which I am most impressed with is Mednafen. Its the only emulator that has awesome sound and video support though no GUI.
I use ArchLinux on my system, and here are the emulators I use:
Snes9x (GTK port)
Zsnes
Bsnes
Regen
Nestopia
pSX
ePSXe
Dega
Gambatte
VisualBoyAdvance

I get very good audio and video in all of them. I use ALSA for sound (the sound processor I have an Intel 82801G HDA). For video, I have an ATI Radeon X600 with 128mb vram; I use the open source "radeon" driver.

I've heard worse versions, actually. And by worse I mean more profane. His was one of the funnier ones. The amazing thing about that joke is that there are 100% innocent versions of it. o_O

here's the web comic I mentioned: http://www.somethingpositive.net/sp01262003.shtml

How about 'V16 TurboEngine' ? :)

BTW,I've created a new thread for this emulator.I think it's a bad idea to pollute this one with PCEngine stuff.

TurboEngine16 will do if written together. But names like Master Engine 16. Kaiser Engine 16, Ultra Engine 16 could do.

Oh yeah, sorry about that. I don't really pay attention to details sometimes, so I guess I saw the "a" and thought it was a "d". Alright then, I'll correctly call you AamirM from now on.

Well, thanks.

Thinking of a name has turned out to be tougher than I thought. Desicions, desicions. I am gonna go with TurboEngine16. So its official now. :D

Yep and I am going to call it just Turbo Engine. And everybody else can call it either Turbo Engine 16 or TurboEngine16 or whatever they like since we know we are talking about the emulator. I will continue to display "Turbo Engine 16" in the title bar.

Hi,

I have uploaded two Regen beta executables (only) with which I need some testing from you guys. The common thing to test in both of them is the updated YM2612 core to make sure no game has broken sound (except Sonic 3 falling bombs at one point).

 Regen 0.93 normal
This is purely built from only the C sources. Tell me if this worked for you on your AMD processor or not. This should be quite faster (20%-60% at least) than previous 0.85 release. If not, then tell.

 Regen 0.93 parallelized (Core 2 and compatibles only)
This is built from the C sources and some hand optimized asm code (used in VDP and YM2612). This should use both the cores (unlike previously). Tell me if this worked for you on your AMD processor or not. I've tested this only on my friend's Core 2 PC. Again, I'd like to know what speed its achieveing compared to previous 0.85 and the normal build above.

The YM2612 core should now be even more accurate than Kega Fusion's. One must listen closely otherwise the difference won't be noticeable. Note that this is not a release but sort of a WIP :) . Also, it will have 100% compatibility (commercial games). All the known non-working games have been fixed.

Geeeez, damn it's fast. Nearly 300FPS in Spider-Man: The Animated Series. I'll do some sound testing in a couple minutes and post my results here. :)

EDIT: Some testing done.

Spider-Man: The Animated Series - Sounds good as far as I can tell. :)

Vectorman - Again, sounds good as I remember it.

Sonic The Hedgehog 3 - A couple things with this. First off, the Super Sonic music sounds doubled and echoed, which doesn't sound right to me. And the sound during the falling bombs is drowned out by a crackling noise, seemingly caused by the plane itself.

Also the following bugs still exist (I think), that can hinder normal play...

-Turning a cheat “Off” doesn’t disable the effect of the cheat.
-Regen can’t read and use SRM files created and used in Gens and Kega.
-On Windows Vista, loading a ROM from the Load ROM dialog then loading a cheat for the game, causes the Load ROM window to open at the Cheats folder, not the ROMs folder.

Also, for the Overclock M68000 feature, can you add a default button, so the value can be defaulted to normal?

One more thing, I'd like to bump up the importance of the following small feature request...

-Automatically save and load Cheats for games (based upon the naming scheme of the ROMs, like Kega).

I just wanna say the new sound core's amazing! Take Sonic the Hedgehog 2, for example. Listen to the Mystic Cave Zone theme sounds awesome, that and Green Hill Zone. One issue, and I know it's still a beta and all. But approximately every thirty seconds, the framerate "hiccups" for a split second and continues on normally. Why does it happen? I didn't DL the Dual Core version.... Just wondering is all. Don't get me wrong, it sounds great.

Happens to me too, and I have a Core 2 Duo processor. It's between every 30 to 80 seconds, a framerate hiccups for a moment, causing the sound to "skip".
