Right, I am aware that it's no longer 2006. Question still stands - anyone played it, and if so how is it?

Harder than the orignial LoZ for SNES. You practically have to abuse coding in the original game to get past some parts (eg: the armos knights mini-boss, you have to keep striking the one still bouncing before they formate in the circle or else you'll face dire consequences. not to mention mothula is a bitch with four hearts.)

Also if you want to save in-game, good luck. Unless they made a new version, in-game saves don't work. You'll have to settle for save states.
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

I haven't played it enough to give a fair opinion, but it's simply doesn't give the classic LOZ feel due to its insane difficulty.

It's not my cup of tea.

The last I heard, you can save normally after you get the sword and shield.

I found this hack to be pretty poor in the gameplay department. It's ridiculously difficult as well. I quit after beating the first level with savestates. It's not fun in the least bit.

Aside from the Armos Knights that take a billion years to beat without the boomerang, Nayru's holes* and Impa's Paths*, the game is fairly easy for A LttP veteran. (*evil mazes)

I believe there was a rediculously hard part in Sheiks Hideout that I skipped with cheats, but aside from that it was pretty easy once you knew what your meant to do and where to go.

I played it for a couple of hours. The hack is really well done, but I never got far enough to really comment on the difficulty level.

It's just a bug from the original game. Saving doesn't work until you get the sword and shield. In the original it didn't matter because you got them like 2 minutes into the game and (unless you abuse an obscure glitch) you can't kill yourself if you wanted to.

I got to a cave with a bunch of nasty fireshooting statues, and it locks up as soon as I get out of it. Could just be the shitty PSP emulator...

99% chance it is the emulator, that cave leads you to/from your first objective. (unless you want the Lantern)

I haven't tried it, but an FAQ for the GBA version is on gamefaqs.
Supposedly, if Zelda's message comes up while you talk to the soldiers, it's possible to move a pixel farther than normal. And with patience, you could move past the soldiers. This would allow you to play a swordless game, but the side effect I see is that you'd probably have to use savestates, unless you can beat the entire game in one sitting and without dying.

Ah, something similar to the mirror glitch on death mountain.
