And does that give you the right to facepunch something when the dev involved has been involved with commercial matters for the past year?Heh! Not likely!
And if people will bring up the "Steve Snake is not disclosing info":
He DID. The developer involved however CHOSE NOT to use the info, since they wanted to discover the info themselves.
Sheesh.

Wrong, and it's not dead... it's been sleeping. If anyone has doubt about this, never click this link. Besides, Snake has little to no free time these days, hence his lack of presence or updates to Kega. But that does NOT mean it is dead. Have you forgotten that Snake has taken extended breaks from the community for years on end?Dullaron wrote:Kega - Seem no longer be updated. Regen murder it.
Regen - Step in and then crushes Kega skull.
Kega will ever come back from the dead?
Oh, and obviously it's a misconception that Steve Snake holds back findings and information, it's just nobody really asks... or knows how to ask in the first place.

It's not a fucking "so-so emulator is better it crushes the other skull" debate, damn. Just shows how you're simple minded and unappreciative of others' hard work. If it wasn't for Kega (and its incarnations before it), a lot of emulators out there now may not be where they are now. If anything, Snake and Kega raised the bar to near perfect and accurate Genesis/32X/SCD/SMS/GG emulation. Remember that and show some damn respect.

I never dissed Kega of Regen...they both have their pluses and minuses. It's just when one doesn't hear any news of said program for several years, people tend to doubt if it's really still alive or not is all. Heck, if Zophar can come back from the dead, so can Kega....

I think most of us are sick of you just assuming that everything that is not right in your face must be dead, be it a web page not loading properly on your computer, or an emulator taking a perfectly acceptable hiatus/deciding to take the little time they still have to work in private on their project. There are more constructive things to do than just write something off like that.neo_bahamut1985 wrote:I never dissed Kega of Regen...they both have their pluses and minuses. I bring the trouble.

Kega. Isn't. Dead. Period. I don't care if there hasn't been an update since 2006, that doesn't mean a project is dead. It means Snake has things going on in real life that take away from any time to do any proper updates to Kega and release them.
Snake is a friend of mine, and he will update Kega when he gets the chance to... and when he finally does release something, I'm pretty sure most of you will be happy.
Next person who says Kega's dead, is going to get smacked, hard.

Does it really matter if every last person on the planet knows every detail about the state of emulators? It's not such a big deal. This is a hobby, after all. People are all on different levels. Everyone should be respected, whether they are the main programmer or the end-user.

This is a little off topic, but it does involve Regen and the current sound core...I was playing Sonic Mega Collection ( I don't own the real hardware, so I don't know how it really compares) and noticed how different Sonic 3 (Chrome Gadget) sounded from Regen/Kega..Which is the more accurate one. One of the channels in the Mega Collection had a "uwaaaaee" twist to it...maybe it's just me?

Well, you can't really accurately compare a Gamecube game to a Genesis game audio wise. There's bound to be differences how the game was developed.

He probably wasn't allowed to do development on that portion (actually, I recall somebody asking the reason for the bad sound, forgot what he said).

Nothing can sound as bad as that collection released for Windows 98, though. I thought the sound on SMC was pretty decent compared to real hardware.I.S.T. wrote:And a direct attack masked as an observation.SmartOne wrote:I remember seeing Steve Snake in the credits for Sega Genesis Collection (PS2,) and that Genesis emulator has terrible sound compared to Sonic Mega Collection.
Observation.
Kega Fusion has damn good sound emulation.

No, it wasn't a direct attack. I felt obligated to add "Observation" in an attempt to avoid stupid comments from people like you.I.S.T. wrote:And a direct attack masked as an observation.

I try not to offend to avoid stupid conflicts like this. But the people on this board are frustrating me.
My original post had nothing to do with Kega Fusion. It was about Sega Genesis Collection. I'm curious why the sound is so bad considering that someone as talented as Steve Snake worked on it (according to the credits.)
Not an attack.
Always trying to find something to criticize, aren't ya?
