first do you even have a soundcard installed? (properly that is.)
next try switching the drivers via the command line. RTFM for that.

<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

There's a good chance that the repository is responsible for terribly managing this.
Try the binaries here - http://board.zsnes.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=11513
If worst comes to worse, learn to compile ZSNES for yourself.

That's what I was trying to hint at, and I assumed it was already in the docs.grinvader wrote:probably just another guy who needs to use -ad <something or other> here... add that to the FAQ stuff already, gee.
Except I forgot the command line switch.adventure_of_link wrote:next try switching the drivers via the command line. RTFM for that.
In any case, once I can remember how it goes I'll add it to the FAQs.

You shouldn't be using Linux (Ubuntu) if this really has to be explained to you...Anonono wrote:Okay, I didn't understand any of that. Can you explain it like you were talking to a non-technical person?
To keep it simple...
My original suggestion is to download and execute the binary that "should" hopefully work on your system
Alternatively, you need to try to use a different sound driver for ZSNES to properly play audio.
You need to run a console/terminal, and type in "zsnes -?" w/o the quotes into it and see what options/parameters you have for the "-ad" switch.
So, running ZSNES on ALSA should be like "zsnes -ad alsa" w/o the quotes (assuming alsa is one of the listed options).
