Help with srm files!!!

im very new to the emulation stuff so please bear with me. what exactly are .srm files? im guessing its the sava data but i have a chrono trigger srm that im very far on my sd card and i want it on my computer but whenever i try to put in in my zsnes folder the game just starts a new game instead of showing my files!! i need help!!

Make sure the save directory in Config->Paths is pointing to the ZSNES folder.

Yep. You guessed well.

SRM stands for Save RaM. Or maybe Static RaM. Either way, it maps to the game's internal save area.

There's also state saves, which are a different beast. The extension for those varies with emulator, but in ZSNES they're ...

Actually, I don't know anymore. The entire state system was overhauled, and I don't use them so it was never an issue until now.

Also, I believe the .srm file has to be named the same as the rom file.

Example: chrono trigger.smc = chrono trigger.srm
