The new Fusion fullscreen features are fantastic! I like using the combo of aspect fit and nearest multiple on my 1680x1050 screen. It saves me the hassle of creating center-timed custom resolutions on my graphic card. If I could make one request, it would be an extra feature called "non-corrected fit". This would allow for 256x240 modes with "nearest multiple" to be zoomed to sizes like 1024x960 instead of 1280x960. I've never been a fan of software aspect correction.
Also my favorite crappy video game "King's Bounty" still has improperly emulated music. It sounds fluttery and some notes stop abruptly. I have the physical cart version and it doesn't sound like that.

I'd inform Steve Snake on Eidolon's Inn on the Kega forums there about that one to see what he says.FirebrandX wrote:Also my favorite crappy video game "King's Bounty" still has improperly emulated music. I had mentioned it before to him there back during 3.51, but he was pretty irritable back then and so I don't think he really cared.King Of Chaos wrote:I'd inform Steve Snake on Eidolon's Inn on the Kega forums there about that one to see what he says.FirebrandX wrote:Also my favorite crappy video game "King's Bounty" still has improperly emulated music. Anyway, there's a good comparison to use to see how the music in King's Bounty messes up, and it seems to be sample-rate related. Take the latest Regen and set the sample rate to 48000 and then play King's Bounty. While you are on the horse, listen to the music for a while. Now change the sample rate to 44100 and notice the sound becomes fluttery and unstable, which is exactly how it sounds in Fusion.

Irritable? Moi?FirebrandX wrote:I had mentioned it before to him there back during 3.51, but he was pretty irritable back then and so I don't think he really cared.

More likely it's because I couldn't hear what you were talking about. Still can't... I get on the horse, listen... can't hear anything going wrong. Maybe you can be more specific?
You'll want to use the DoubleRaw plugin, then.FirebrandX wrote:I've never been a fan of software aspect correction
-edit- might as well put all this in one post...
byuu wrote:Weird, I hadn't noticed that. That may explain why I wasn't able to get Kega to not skip constantly on Vista Ultimate.
As King says, it's all about framerate issues. I notice you're having these in bsnes too. I'm going to send some code to Aamir once I know it's stable and doesn't cause other issues, so you can expect to receive that in your inbox toobyuu wrote:Does Vista have any new, compelling API features to use? It is usually, screenshot stuff goes down a different path. My renderer is a bit odd, but its required in order to get certain hardware features accurate.byuu wrote:Odd, you'd think aspect correction would be the very last step. It'd really throw off eg HQ2x otherwise.

Steve, there is more interest in plugins then you'd think
especially since vba-m gained the ability to use kega plugins.
As of this point, there are 37 or 38 plugins available in the kega format, with the chance that more may yet be made, using wolfwings optimised hq2x filter.
Anyway, <3 Kega fusion, especially more so now it has savestate support for Mega-CD games ^_^, Great work Steve

Success! I've managed to figure something new out about the funky sound of King's Bounty in Fusion, and ultimately why nobody else noticed it when they checked:
You have to load another game first, and then load King's Bounty without turning off the emulator. I found this out because I went to record the Fusion sound output and low & behold the sound was fine this time! I was like "WTF?? Why does it sound fine now?" So I fiddled with a bunch of settings and still it sounded fine. Then it came to me that I had played it after testing some other games. So I loaded Castlevania Bloodlines, played a few seconds into the first stage, and then loaded King's Bounty. Viola! The sound was back to being screwed up. I imagine this should be an easy fix as its probably something to do with the sound channels not being cleared and reset or something.
Anyway, I will get back to recording the screwed up sound and get it uploaded just in case you still need a comparison.

I might of found one earlier in regards to King's Bounty, the sound pops when you head into the Coliseum during the little dialog choices inside.

The sound pops on the real hardware too.
BTW an update: It appears ONLY loading Castlevania Bloodlines first causes King's Bounty's sound to screw up. I've tried with several other games now and none of them affected it. Also, When loading Castlevania, all you have to do is wait for the first sound from the konami logo screen, and then you can load up King's Bounty with screwy sound.

Do you use the load ROM dialog, or do you load the games up from file history? Also do you have the Genesis BIOS enabled?
One last thing, what's your sound settings? I'm going to try to reproduce this.
P.S. Thanks for confirming the sound pops on the real hardware.
EDIT: Actually, got a savestate handy to try this?
