32 or 16 bit?

Post by hiero »

I run an frontend in windows media center to launch snes games.

With zsnes when i return from playing a game to media center i get an error about switching from 16bit to 32bit color modes but when i use bsnes i don't get this error.

excuse my ignorance but would running it the same way bsnes be difficult? i.e. a few changes and a checkbox.

thanks in advance.

ZSNES switches to a 16-bit fullscreen mode; bsnes just maximizes the window.

You could use a windowed mode, which keeps the bit depth at 32 bpp.
(The interpolation filter still has a problem with colors (pic), as I just noticed.)

thanks for the reply.

so is it possible for zsnes to run in 32-bit mode fullscreen instead of switching?

or if not, would it be a acceptable feature request?

You'd probably have to change the source code for that, unless you know a tool that can enforce bitdepths.

Maybe it's only one parameter that needs to be changed.

some do exist, though they are for Dx8/9 so i doubt they'd work on zsnes.
