BTW, while that link claims it's 1.42n, the "about" screen shows 1.43.
Why don't you update ZSNES 1.40 with the 1.42n/1.43 EXE file

It is what it is.lwc wrote:http://board.zsnes.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=176308

It exists because people still want netplay, but it's not going to magically help ZSNES's netplay flaws. There is no reason to release it officially, so don't bother asking.
IIRC, the original reason was it to get it compilable and running properly in Linux versions during that time... and that issue still exists (people need to recognize that complier changes in Linux continue to make code maintaining more difficult and annoying).

Absolutely not. If for some reason 1.40 works better for someone's favorite game, doing that is a complete disservice, and brings more confusion.lwc wrote:I don't think you got it. You still offer v1.40, so all I'm saying is why don't you update the archive with the new EXE file? You don't have to announce it or anything.
The build version isn't "wrong" as it was built post-1.42, and isn't an official build. Think of it as a specialized WIP. It's main purpose to have a netplay option with a few more fixes/changes. That's it. This netplay build is not meant to replace an official version, so doing what you are suggesting makes absolutely no sense. Also, the post if wrong because the "about" screen claims it's v1.43.
