Getting curious...
- the games are region free, but what about the various downloadable extra contents ?
- what do you need to grab it / how does it even work ?
- can i has cheeseburger ?

1. downloadables are region coded per your PlayStation account. change the region on your account, and you can grab other region's downloadables.

2. internet connection (via 10/100/1000 over copper or 54mb wifi interface) + aforementioned PlayStation account (free sign-up)

3. nbz got you covered. you can has heart attack.

Not entirely certain if you can switch at will - I haven't bothered trying to grab other regions' DLC. However, you can have multiple user accounts on a PS3, each linked to a different PSN ID - worst case scenario, this should be a simple workaround to questions 1 and 3.

I think it depends on the downloaded content. There are some downloads which are region specific extra content.

Whether or not you can download certain things or not might depend on what your location is set too. I dunno.
