Hey everyone, hopefully I can explain this properly. I am using ZSNES for Windows on my 1080p HDTV. I am using DVI and it looks great. However, I much prefer scanlines and that's where my problem is. The scanlines (25%) are not reproduced properly. What I mean is, every few lines, a scanline will be twice as thick as it should be. I tried messing with screen resolutions and it didn't do any good. I hope I am explaining this well but to put it simply some lines are thin and some are fatter.
This was similar in ZSNES for XBox, however I noticed when adjusting the screen size (something I don't see an option for in ZSNES) almost all of the scanline problems went away. Even a small adjustment of the screen size (vertically) would cause the scanlines to be out of whack.
Is there a recommended way to get the scanlines to display properly? Thank you!

Nah, it's set to 1920x1080 and the scanlines are off. Some are thicker than others. It stinks because I love scanlines.paulguy wrote:There isn't much you can do if they're displaying incorrectly. I'd think if you set a resolution of 1920x1080, it'd give enough precision for them to be reasonably correct (good enough as to not be noticed ingame.).
Again in ZSNES for XBox I can get it to do scanlines perfectly (even though XBox does not do 1080p!) but that's only because I could adjust the screen size (stretch and skew). I'm assuming there's no way to do this in ZSNES for Windows?
you'll actually get better results if you set the resolution to 640x480 and let the tv up-scale it. that way, instead of the software renderer doubling or tripling some lines, the scaler in the tv will do its best job of spreading everything evenly.
works best on my tv, at least. not perfect, mind you, but better.
