ZSnes running WAY too fast

Post by brucedlx »

for some reason, I started ZSnes (after a long time of not using it mind you) and it just runs way too fast! Obviously the roms run too fast (actually, I have to adjust the speed to 1/4 to get it kinda right) but even the idle screen has the snowflakes moving MUCH fast than I remember, and the mouse movement is faster as well.

I deleted and re-downloaded ZSnes and it made new .cfg files and everything but right off the bat when you run it, I can tell the snowflakes are moving TOO fast.

Only major change I made was removing a desktop "skinning" program (called aston) that I had when I used to play ZSnes. Could this be causing it? I don't know. Please help!

Very unlikely.

To be perfectly honest with you, I don't know what could be the problem, since even deleting the config files and doing a clean install doesn't seem to help.

Computer specs?

sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

I'm tired and I don't have a clue, also this isn't IRC so don't post so often against your last one (who am I kidding I do it all the time)

but open your task manager and right click the zsnes exe and set the processor affinity to one processor

I had an old computer that behaved similarly. Although rather than too fast, it was just kinda jumpy and inconsistent. But it was like this all over the OS for example playing a MIDI in windows media player was screwed up in the same way. I don't know what was wrong with it; that computer had a lot of problems.

What version of XP (sp1, 2, 3)? did you install the hotfix for dual core CPUs? it is included in Windows XP Service Pack 3.
