wintastic. plus...Gil_Hamilton wrote:BlazBlue. First printing retail purchase edition.
BlazBlue, SF4, RB2, and WWP are in heavy rotation when people are over. (yes, WWP, not WA... we like the Wormpot). Worms/PS3 is nice, but unlocking all the weapons for fun and bewmage results in the computer spamming Concrete Donkeys... which gets old REAL fast.Noel wrote:Your breasts are illegal!
other than that, i'm replaying FF7 and enjoying it much more than i did 12 years ago.
Why yes, my shift key *IS* broken.
Still, it can easily be cracked. I'd be more concerned if they starting using dongles o.okode54 wrote:Maybe changing system product key to achieve a different product ID number?Gil_Hamilton wrote:Which I'm still not sure what he's actually talking about with changing the system ID in the first place.

I'm actually fairly sure he's delusional again, especially given Stardock makes a big deal out of their shit not having ANY copy protection.

Yes, yes... and how exactly is that tied to copy protection.franpa wrote:franpa wrote:http://windowsitpro.com/article/article ... ty-id.html

I can't imagine Stardock says "Okay, send us your SID and we'll send you a custom-compiled version of our software JUST FOR YOU that will never work ever again if you reinstall Windows, change computers, or any other routine commonly-occuring task. Also, if you share the computer, this will only work on ONE of your machine's logins. Choose wisely."
ESPECIALLY since they make a big deal out of using NO copy protection.
I believe franpa means the product activation method of using HWIDs, generated from common things like MAC addresses, etc.Gil_Hamilton wrote:Yes, yes... and how exactly is that tied to copy protection.franpa wrote:franpa wrote:http://windowsitpro.com/article/article ... ty-id.html

So its still DRM like Steam etc.
And yeah, how Stardock does things is sure as hell PA......

Explain why changing the SID to a specific one is needed to get past the protection then?Gil_Hamilton wrote:Yes, yes... and how exactly is that tied to copy protection.franpa wrote:franpa wrote:http://windowsitpro.com/article/article ... ty-id.html

I know it is silly to do, as it is usually done to make the product think your computer matches with the activation code. It doesn't bypass/crack the activation process at all and is only worth doing (if at all) after a fresh install of Windows otherwise you face most things no longer working due to no longer owning permission rights to them etc.

This is getting pretty fucking derailed, so I'm going to fix.
I've been playing Wolfenstein 3D on my XBOX 360 lately... and when I beat the shit out of that, I started on Doom on the same machine. God only knows why nobody has released Doom 2 on XBLA, or I would have been knee-deep in that as well. Anyways, when I beat the hell out of Doom I started on Duke Nukem 3D. And I'm still on the first episode, but I think it's about time to kick ass and chew bubble gum.
....and I'm all out of gum.
