Remember 3Dfx?
I was browsing some old gaming titles at a local Half Price Books store, and came across a couple of old...no...ancient gaming titles I missed back when they were in their prime. Considering the el-cheapo prices, I thought it would be cool to finally experience them...until I happened to check out the system requirements.
Suffice to say that it's been a LONG time since I or anyone else that I know has had a Voodoo-compatible video card in ANY of its generation iterations. Ignoring (for now) the faster CPUs we have these days, does anyone know if there any driver hacks that might allow these old 3Dfx games to run with a current-day vid card?

Glide was opengl with a twist. there are several games which accessed certain parts of the hardware directly, and most wrappers don't play nicely with that...Gil_Hamilton wrote:I have a Voodoo 2 I scavenged off something that strayed near me.
Never used, or even installed, it. But it's nice to know it's there for a future legacy box.
And a decent Glide->OpenGL wrapper shouldn't be TOO hard, since Glide is a subset of OpenGL anyways.
none of the wrappers play the 3DO glide games properly...
