Reasonably so.
It gives you a fast way to get across the screen and a high degree of fine-motion control in one device. Few analog inputs can make that claim.
...
I suppose the touch screen may work for that too. But meh. MEH, I say!
Now if only there was a spinner for Arkanoid Live.

But it could be BETTER!111
Seriously, it's much more of an issue for Arkanoid.
SI doesn't require near the speed or precision of Arkanoid. It's been a digital-control game from day 1.

Hey its a decent game.
It's a fighting game from Square(-Enix
). With Final Fantasy characters in it.
The last time they did that, we got Ehrgeiz. They're STILL living that down, a decade later.

Or at least the J PS version.
I've defended Working Designs several times in the past, but... not here. They fucked up.

Indeed. But Ehrgeiz cancels that out.
Why do you think there was never a Bushido Blade 3?
(Though neither Bushido Blade nor Ehrgeiz were actually developed by Square. BB was by LightWeight, Ehrgeiz by Dream Factory. So, assuming it wasn't ghost-developed or something, this is actually Squeenix's FIRST fighting game!
...
Not that that's gonna stop the Ehrgeiz jokes.)

Is it one of those "games" where you sign in and click a button once every 30 minutes, and the guy with the most clicks win?
They are the worst thing to happen to the Internet.

The fun thing is, playing paper mario 2 felt a lot like that at endgame.
Especially with hammer multi-special actions.
