NOTE: You'll install these drivers, but you will probably wonder why you still can't input anything to your PC from the PS3 controller. You need to press the "home" button whenever you log into Windows while the PS3 is plugged in via USB (there are no blue-tooth drivers for it as far as I know, but you can use the PS3 controller as a joypad if you hook it up with the USB A to Mini-B cable provided.

It works out of the box on my (Xubuntu) Linux install. Perhaps it will do so on other Linux distros, or indeed the same distro, for you. Again, press the home button before usign the controller, while it is plugged in.

Yeah I googled for hours but the tutorials didn't help one bit.
Anyways, figured it out eventually :)
