This question seems to come up far too often, so I thought I would make this an announcement thread for the people who can't seem to read the rules. ZSNES is not dead, so yeah, you don't have to ask that question. Fun.

I see only minor changes there, but they're recent, so I suppose that Pagefault is still working on major changes on the core without committing them: I would gladly hear a word from him (just a short status report) about that if possible...

We only recently rehooked the bot, so you missed the ~60 other commits, which include spc7110 and enough jonasfixes to make chuck norris bleed.

Although we kinda missed the cue to update the copyrights to 2009... kinda close enough to 2010 to wait it out. :p

it doesn't help that google leads people to the boards, bypassing the rules page altogether.

I've noticed when people ask if Zsnes is discontinued
the moderators take it as "When is it coming out" and get annoyed or something.
When they are only asking if it's dead.

Both questions show that the poster is too lazy/dumb to just look around a bit, which I suppose is the main source of annoyance; being bothered about information that is easy enough to obtain without bothering anyone.

It's like, they just want to know If they're looking forward to nothing.

Like, instead of saying stuff like "It's out when it's out"
why not say something like, "It's still being worked on"
or simply "It isn't discontinued"
or be extremely nice and say "Don't worry it'll be out real soon

Like most people are not going to come here looking for answers, they are going to ask questions(it is a forum), that's just how it is and it's never going to change. Generally people come here to ask questions, maybe you guys should update the actual zsnes front page like news on the progress and stuff, I'm sure people will look there.

Remember, we DO have a forum dedicated to the rules and FAQs, much like on Snes9x..

Of course, this goes back to my earlier point about people not reading stickies/announcements, as well as FAQs, so..

Maybe change the forum from FAQs to Frequently asked questions? would be more intuitive to people who aren't native to english?

I like to think most people actually are smart enough to search for information themselves rather than asking stuff (doing a search is less trouble than signing up and posting, after all), it's just that you only notice the people who aren't.

If you visit as infrequently as me, you might look at the homepage and see that the latest news was last updated in Jan. 2007. Then you wonder why folks are curious wether zsnes is dead or not? But hey, that's what I get for not actually opening the forums...heh.
By the way, thank you for all the hours of enjoyment I've had from ZSNES. Your work is greatly appreciated.

Seriously no one comes to forums to roam, that's what the home page is for.
Forum is a place for open discussion, I mean you can roam a little, but it's generally for asking questions.
So why get annoyed?
