True, true. But I think it's stupid that they ask that since people can get around it so easily. You're right, though, video card virtualization is a lot better than it used to be. Let's hope they release updated drivers someday.

Make something up, just like you do when you install Windows.nintendo_nerd wrote:So, I want to download, and it asks me to register my company (i.e. put in the information for the company/place I work for). The thing of it is, I'm currently unemployed, so, I'm pretty much SOLed, right?

Already did. Installed and working beautifully, uh, for the most part.Gil_Hamilton wrote:Make something up, just like you do when you install Windows.nintendo_nerd wrote:So, I want to download, and it asks me to register my company (i.e. put in the information for the company/place I work for). The latest beta has some fixes regarding 3D support, though it doesn't say anything about overlapping windows...kode54 wrote:The 3D support is probably better than VirtualBox, which has some bugs in its 3D acceleration implementation. For instance, some D3D/OpenGL windows will render their contents over top of overlapping windows within the guest operating system. The problem has been reported for both Windows guests and Linux guests.

Not once have I used a real company name or real name when installing Windows, heck, I don't see the point of using real info. Here's hoping for a new version of VMWare that addresses the missing graphics bugs, but that likely isn't going to happen for quite some time. I now like VMWare more than Virtual Box anyway.

So you downloaded a hacked version? And they get... no punishment, since everyone that's going to has long since bought the game, which is now out of print?nintendo_nerd wrote:And by the way, I managed to get Chaos Theory to run on Windows 7, but I assume you're not gonna ask me how or where I found out. Not that it matters, anyway. That's what Ubisoft gets for making honest gamers suffer.

Well, see, people like me tend to get fed up with that kind of crap. Some people may justify doing so because one, Ubisoft officially severed ties with Starforce and two, their refusal to release a patch for Windows Vista/7 users only adds fuel to the piracy scene as a whole. On the other hand, people who legitimately bought the game (me) have to suffer because of some lazy company's asinine excuse for not supporting older games (four years isn't that old, IMHO). Starforce causes harm anyway. They really should've used non-crappy protection, you know, like SecuROM, which doesn't conflict with newer OSes.

How about one that rotates the other way?

Did Oskar's version go the other way? I can't recall...

Well, at least those updates work. Starforce updates are a joke, they ask you to to restart after "installing" every time. Companies like them shouldn't interfere.franpa wrote:The versions included with many games aren't compatible with win7 or vista and require a manually applied Securom update.
