Sometimes I assign too many functions to the buttons on my controller, and I can't assign or don't feel like assigning quick save and quick load. Is there a way to autosave every 5 minutes, or whatever the player enters? That way I won't have to use the keyboard to save and load.
It's an insurance issue. People save more than they load, as long as they aren't playing some ridiculous hack. I still like using the in-game saves as extra insurance, so I load that way; but, if there was an autosave feature, I wouldn't have to in-game save as much, hence leading to a more quality experience with my games.
Autosave every xx minutes

If you spread rewind states very far apart, you can approximately reproduce this - only rewind states are volatile and will be erased when you quit a game, but you can fix that by activating "auto state save/load", which will save a state when you go in the GUI and quit the game, and load it when you reload the game.
Still, it is highly recommended to use the ingame saves as you would on a real system - many people came here asking for a way to restore their game because they loaded an early state and wasted hours.

Well I'll look into how to rewind much much much much farther than what the default is. Until then, yeah I use in-game saving, as I've stated previously. I might have a strange method of playing games on an emu, but it is a viable one all the same. Oh yeah, I also use rewind as a method; ironically it's assigned to a button (on the opposite polarity of fast forward); but I need to look into a way for rewinding much farther back.

Increase duration between each rewind state to the max.
Increase # of rewind states to the max.
99*99/5 = 1960.2 seconds.
You can jump up to 32 minutes 40 seconds back in time.
