ZST File Question

Post by classicgamer »

A friend emailed me a zst file and a mzi file both from the same game. When I tried to play this video on my zsnes emulator by the movie options > play video, I get a movie can't be opened message.

What am I doing wrong and how can I get movies of games from friends and watch them. I want to dump them and share them with others too.

Can I use the .zst to .avi guide on videos like these? (I know how to do this)

Incompatible versions of ZSNES perhaps? Or maybe you don't have the same ROM as your friend.

Movies are ZMV (or ZM#).
MZT (or MZ#) are special movie-recording states.

A ZST (or ZS# - or Z##) file is a normal state.

That's not going to work.

What you need is for your friend to send you his ZMV or ZM? file.

Nope, once the final video is done, mzt files become redundant.

I've tried all this and now I get a "ROM MISMATCH NEED 77E10545"

More help would be helpful

You need the same ROM your friend used for the movie creation, and his ZMV (or ZM#).

The 77E10545 is the crc32 of the ROM image. Since yours is different, it likely won't work right.
