Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
Did you already check the cue sheets for bad filenames? Some idiots like to leave absolute paths or other mistakes in their cue sheets when distributing them.
Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
I've just played through Portal for the first time, was a pretty good experience considering I knew very little about the game other then it was good.

Playing Painkiller for the first time and it's quite enjoyable.
Though seriously, why the fuck does this game not have a co-op mode?
Anyone know of a hack or mod or something?

that did it.kode54 wrote:Did you already check the cue sheets for bad filenames? Some idiots like to leave absolute paths or other mistakes in their cue sheets when distributing them.
and that's the first time i've ever had to check a cue sheet.
looks like i'll also be keeping daemon, then. why virtual clonedrive refuses to load cue sheets is beyond me.

The very first cue sheet I ever downloaded was bad.sweener2001 wrote:that did it.kode54 wrote:Did you already check the cue sheets for bad filenames? Some idiots like to leave absolute paths or other mistakes in their cue sheets when distributing them.
and that's the first time i've ever had to check a cue sheet.
It proved to be a fair introduction to the concept.

WHAT GAMES ARE YOU recommend for me to PLAY THESE DAYS
any GBA games that you'd recomend for me, that is:
- in english
- do not require precise eye & hand coordination / reflects, since i sucks with that kind of game
- no sport or racing
- non-'meh' game, that based on your judgement, not mine (yeah, there was someone who recommend me shity games that he don't like himself)

That sorta reduces everything down to FFTA, Golden Sun and maybe Minish Cap if you can pull the hand-eye coordination needed for a zelda game.Rashidi wrote:any GBA games that you'd recomend for me, that is:

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
I hear good things about Advance Wars too. Haven't played any of them myself yet though.
Speaking of which; which would be the best one to pick up today if I wanted to play one? Right now it looks like probably Dual Strike.

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
Just finished Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past on my Wii Virtual Console, and even though I didn't get the game over screen once, I managed to rack up a total of 9 games. Boo.
Also playing Super Mario Galaxy, I already have 11 stars now.
I'm probably going to start playing Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask on Virtual Console, since I bought that a couple weeks ago. Still one of my favorites, and I always go for 100% completion, even if it is a big pain in the ass, but it makes the final boss dead easy. (Hmm, one of these days, I should try completing the final boss without that glorious kill everything mask.)

dying and being revived by a fairy counts. red/blue potions ftw.kode54 wrote:Just finished Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past on my Wii Virtual Console, and even though I didn't get the game over screen once, I managed to rack up a total of 9 games. Boo.
Why yes, my shift key *IS* broken.
Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
The thing is, I didn't even use 9 fairies. At least, I don't think I did.
Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
save/quitting counts, too. no saving to avoid deathcount like in nes zelda.

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
I've done it before
basically you use the Zora mask first, then with Majora's Incarnation, you use the Goron mask, then for Majora's Wrath, you spam (light?) arrows at it, and just slice him up.
kode54 wrote:I'm probably going to start playing Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask on Virtual Console, since I bought that a couple weeks ago. Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
why? you usually earn more than you pay to play, and unless your luck is horrible it usually doesn't take all that long to get the heart piece.grinvader wrote:you'll hate that shovel game

speaking of lttp on vc, anyone else notice that the ice palace puzzle was dramatically simplified?

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
Only took me like 10 tries to get the heart piece there.grinvader wrote:you'll hate that shovel game

Oh, and the chest shop? Got it on the second try, and picked up 100 rupees both times.
I thought only the GBA version simplified that. I still had to find the switch crystal, then circle around completely to push the block into the hole.odditude wrote:speaking of lttp on vc, anyone else notice that the ice palace puzzle was dramatically simplified?

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
It's the random element with the largest part of luck - the chest game doesn't even come close.odditude wrote:why? you usually earn more than you pay to play, and unless your luck is horrible it usually doesn't take all that long to get the heart piece.
I already had a game where I needed ~30 tries to get it (and another time where I got it in first try).
Unless you TAS, you can't exactly say how long your game will be. Which can be problematic.
Decent luck. Hope for a repeat next time (if you even want a 000 game).kode54 wrote:Only took me like 10 tries to get the heart piece there.
yea, no issue with that one (it feels like the fragment has only 3 possible locations or smth).Oh, and the chest shop? Got it on the second try, and picked up 100 rupees both times.

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
See, if I don't get the heart piece fast, my patience wears out, and I just say screw it and beat the game with 19.75 hearts. Possibly LESS!
