Yeah, tell me about it. I had to sit there cursing for two hours, because there wasn't an option to save my progress. :/snkcube wrote:I think it's stupid that they won't let you continue where you left off. Yeah, I won't argue with that, it was kind of a letdown. Boss fight was pretty easy too. I had more trouble with my first Rosie than with that guy.snkcube wrote:It has the crappiest endings ever, but it was fun.magitek369 wrote:Just finished Bioshock. Good game. Would recommend.

I have to start that game. It's been sitting there next to the PS3 for months. How's the ending, btw? I heard mixed feelings about it.Agozer wrote:Just finished God of War III. Man what a ride that was.

I did a bunch of reading on The Last Remnant to figure out why my guys sucked. I started over, and now I'm kicking major ass. Almost done with disc 1, I think I just finished the last of the sidequests, time to do some guild shit!

I'm told the PC version is actually a decent game. They changed enough that it almost isn't the same product.sweener2001 wrote:by the end, i loathed that game.

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
The ending is, should I say, very satisfactory in a slight cliffhanger-ish way. It's not a major cliffhanger like the end of GoW2, and most likely not a cliffhanger at all, but I just have this feeling about it.snkcube wrote:I have to start that game. Either way, there's lots of post-game extras.
P.S. If the game has just been sitting there for months on end unplayed, what the hell have you been playing in its stead?

Lots of post-game extras is always great! I can't wait to see the ending for myself then.Agozer wrote:The ending is, should I say, very satisfactory in a slight cliffhanger-ish way. That's a good question. In its stead, I mostly played God of War Collection, Rachet and Clank: Tools of Destruction, Tekken 6 and Super Street Fighter IV. I just had a bit of backlogged borrowed games to beat. Now that those games are beaten, I can finally start on GoW 3.Agozer wrote:P.S. OH. I have ~85 stars or so. I haven't touched it in a few days due to housework, carwork, schoolwork, etc...grinvader wrote:no i mean the first time as in just how many stars do you have, it's easier that wayadventure_of_link wrote:First time. EDIT, 12:24 AM: I actually got a chance to play it tonight (I actually had 87 stars starting out, I now have 101 or 102), and I managed to beat the game.
Yes, go through the final Bowser fight, pwn him in the same exact way you did the last two times except this time you get an extra fight scene, rescue the princess
that kind of beating
I must say after awhile the Bowser fights got kind of bland and boring with little improvement between the three. Other than that this game kicks ass and delivers.

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
I also managed to pick up my file on metal gear solid 3, and I finished that not too long ago. I've been more into super mario galaxy 1 these days.
Tomorrow I'm also going to get that new goldeneye game for the Wii.

Playing on my real NES with the NES Advantage joystick...
I keep getting to the last boss (Joker) in "Batman."
Still can't beat that fucker.
Just the other day, I completed Ninja Gaiden on Nestopia. Didn't use save states.

Super Mario World and Final Fantasy 2 for me. I must say Blargg's sound core kicks ass.

I got hooked on Ninja Gaiden when I was ten, the furthest I ever got was just past the boss battle on the top of the pyramid(The one where the guy keeps summoning lightning and throwing it at you).
When I got into emulation years later, one of the first things I did was clock Ninja Gaiden, using save states. I should play it again without save states, just to see how far I can get through it.
I downloaded dosbox the other day, so I'm going through a nostalgia trip at the moment with old dos games. I clocked Jill of the Jungle yesterday and am playing through Jill Goes Underground at the moment. I'm also playing Doom, Darkseed and Shadow of the Comet.
Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
I'm too spoiled to play Doom in Dosbox now. I must have my hardware 3D rendered nonsense with dynamic lighting, free look over ledges that actually shows you what's below you, and maybe some decent fan made replacement models of the monsters and weapons.
Of course, I haven't replayed Doom in years, maybe the shiny just isn't enough to make me want to play it more now. Although I did replay Doom 3 a few months ago, and started a game in Resurrection of Evil and made it past the first Hell Time guardian, but that's not very far into the game at all.

My half brother got me into zdoom or jdoom a couple of years ago, and while I found it quite novel and fun(and it was cool that the music was like it was in dos and not that shitty midi music they used for windows doom), I prefer to play doom in dos.
