Need help on Far east of Eden

Post by yjack »

Hello,

I really want to play this game, but I can't make it to work.

I already have the graphic pack in the FEOEZDP7 folder under the FEOE folder. I run the rom, and I am stuck at

SPC7110 CHECK PROGRAM v2.2
MODE 2
ATC BACKUP NG
S-RAM BACKUP NG

I tried both ZSNES and SNES9x, both of them end up the same screen.

Did I do anything wrong?

Thanks a lot for the help

You did nothing wrong.
This game uses two sets of test before running for the first time.

Run it, press A when there's a big A onscreen, let it run tests, when there's OK onscreen, reset, then press B when B appears onscreen, some tests again, then reset when OK appears yet again, and that's all done.

... except I should read your post better. There's a problem with rtc... run FEoEZ once, quit, search for rominfo.txt (it's with your saves) and post its contents here.

rominfo.txt is located in your save folder, the one where your .srm and .zst files are stored.

Go to:

http://ipherswipsite.com/graphicpacks/

...for the 100% optimised packs that do not use DeXor. Put the files you get in the zip into a new folder that you name FEOEZSP7, and this folder goes in your save folder (by default, the rom folder).

Then once this is all sorted, follow the steps grinvader suggested to you to pass the tests and play the game normally. This game is definitely worth playing even without knowing Japanese, so keep at it.

I hope the original poster doesn't mind if I use this thread, I'd like to ask a thing, which are the game differences between the normal FEOEZ and the Shounen Jump no Shou version? I know the latest was a very limited version that came with a shining sticker (I guess it had some other extras), but what about the game itself?

Mmm... strange stuff.

I deleted my srm to check if the current WIP passed the tests, and it didn't pass the RTC save a few (3) times. Then I got it to work...

@yjack: Load the game, when it asks to press B, press and hold A instead. It'll redo the first test sequence. Then, reset and press (and hold) B for the second test phase. Hope that helps.

I don't really know, but probably zsnes' emulation is not perfect and some registers are not properly set on 'switch on' or something.

What to do.................Download the Graphics Packs, Make a folder in your (ROms) folder. Name it the same name as the ROM...... Then place the Graphic files in there. Then Open the ROM, Then press A then it tells your COMPLETED, Or somthn like that. THen "RESET" the game. Then press B Then again it tells you completed Again. Then "RESET" again and it should Work....... NOTE: Thats what i did and it works just fine........

You need to put the graphics packs inside a folder named FEOEZSP7. then put this folder into the same folder where ZSNES sotres savestates and sram.
