Haven't seen you around in a while. Welcome back.
We're still sailing.

Re: Ahoyhoy
It's been too long. I have to make an active effort to remember to visit once a day or something to qualify for a 'welcome back'

Re: Ahoyhoy
The zsnes board continues on with some occasional drama. Nothing like back in 2001, though.

Re: Ahoyhoy
Yeah, lately, we get more spam than regular posts.
Re: Ahoyhoy
I can see. Have spambot prevention measures been taken? Captcha registration etc etc? Do we still lack access/ability to upgrade the forum as needed?

It's upgraded, but there's still the issue of human-registered bots.Demios wrote:I can see. Have spambot prevention measures been taken? Captcha registration etc etc? Do we still lack access/ability to upgrade the forum as needed?

Like this one well known ROM hacker who was abusing AOL free trials because his grandparents can't afford to pay for Internet services. (But by gum, that satellite television service is important! As is that expensive cellular phone he's paying for himself that he's now been tethering his computer to for Internet service for a while now.)

Re: Ahoyhoy
Heh, I remember when all the post titles ended in NT... because nobody put text in the body, so it was more of a persistent, threaded IRC than a board. I wasn't really involved in the community much at that point. I barely had internet, and I was a complete retard. I got banned so many times once there was ikonboard... heheh.
Maybe these people were born without that part of their brain that lets you try different things to see if they work better. --Retsupurae

Re: Ahoyhoy
..you mean they still give away free AOL trials, even in 2011 (let alone five years ago), seriously?kode54 wrote:Like this one well known ROM hacker who was abusing AOL free trials because his grandparents can't afford to pay for Internet services.
