Does not run now on widescreen

Salutations.

I just picked up a 20 inch widescreen.

ZSNESW was set to run in fullscreen.

It attempts to do so, then I'm presented with:



Then it's just a big black box that I have to kill the process in Task Manager. Anything to look for in a .cfg to get it going again..? Thanks much

what's the native resolution of the new monitor, and what was your old fullscreen resolution?

also, is your old fullscreen res listed as an option in the Windows display control panel?

if not, change the fullscreen res back to 640x480 via the config file, start zsnes back up, and pick a supported resolution.

1600x900 desktop res.

1280x1024 was the old desktop res.

zsnesw.cfg there's a bunch of resolutions.

I'm not so sure, when I first search "res" this is the first I'm taken to, then I'm stumped.

All of the "CUSTOM" lines resolve to using the custom width and height set below the mode number. Pick a DS or DR FULL mode to suit your taste after setting the CustomResX/Y to 1600 and 900 respectively.

or, if that's too complicated, change the following:

...and then change things to your liking from the GUI.

Well, it was great to get back to the GUI.

But when I set a video mode, for some reason, my Spacebar won't register ?

Yeh, I'm setting it to use 1024x768 D S F. I don't have anything match my desktop res I just hope to get it running again.

Well actually now it decides to register & it's working again fullscreened.

The custom resolution thing is probably meant to be used for widescreen monitors or other monitors with unusual non 4:3 resolutions.

Hello guys,
i solved this by only the proper config. I have the same issue on a laptop widescreen but i solved this TODAY!!!!:
See the fisrt image, my desktop resolution is 1366 x 768 so on your zsnes loveable emulator go to video/modes and select a CUSTOM resolution but!!! select one that allow filters and strech that CUSTOM DS F
Then and this is important, tipe your resolution (see pic) and PRESS THE SET BUTTON that says "1" on my picture that one first!!! and when u already have done this, u can procede and press the SET BUTTON that is on the top of the VIDEO CONFIG (number "2"on my pic)

After u set this appears all in full screen BUT your display doesnt appear on all the 100% of the screen u will have a black left and right borders. SO dont get MAD! GO to CONFIG/VIDEO/ and now go to FILTERS (remenber that u set to a custom config that allow filters and strech?) and uncheck the left inferioir checkbox that says USE 3:4 ratio and off course set super eagle and triple buffering;)
But the uncheck of the 3:4 ratio does it now FULL SCREEN with no problems
