Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
I've been playing:
Portal 2
Dragon Quest VI
Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time 3D (it is kind of disappointing - not much difference from the N64 game except for minor aesthetics).

Bastion.
i even bought a soundtrack yesterday, and it will be autographed by the composer.
the rest of the summer of arcade has been meh for me. from dust was a little clunky, and insanely twisted shadow planet just isn't for me, although i'm sure that many people here would love it.
i am looking forward to fruit ninja kinect, the demo had better be amazing.

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
i got stuck, and then ccleaner erased my save (downside to being "just" a flash game). still a great game.

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
Yeah, I was just going to update my post saying I'm done but had to replay almost all of it because ccleaner wiped my save right before the end.
Some of the solutions were really obscure. Makes you feel all the more clever when you figure it out though, and there's a hint system so bleh. I enjoyed it.

fallout 3, and i'm actually beating it. finished the pitt, the campaign, broken steel, and i'm in point lookout right now. it's kind of exciting to have finally beat this game after three years.
also everyday genius: squarelogic. still going for that top 200.

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
I have an unopened copy of Fallout 3 sitting beside me here. How long does it take to beat (I have to ponder which game to tackle next)?

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
Recently clocked A Link To The Past, which gave me a hankering to play Ocarina Of Time again. I'm at the Water Temple at the moment. Man I hate the Water Temple.

I love the Water Temple, especially the music. Am I a masochist?

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
i think that the story will give you about 20 hours or so, it moves pretty quickly. depending on how many sidequests you want to do, books to find, or general "completeness", you could easily double or triple that time. i'm probably in the 40-60 range right now as i've done every sidequest (with an achievement attached) and completed three DLC packs.badinsults wrote:I have an unopened copy of Fallout 3 sitting beside me here. definitely a fun game once you get the hang of the system.

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
Playing the new Deus Ex on PS3. I was pretty active with the zsnes community back when the first game was new and I was playing it, so I had a feeling of nostalgia to come back and check the zboards.

I have to get my hands on Deus Ex: HR soon. It looks rather nice. Anyway, I've been playing SFIII:TSO lately. If people are up for a few games, harass me on PSN.
Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
Just beat Braid. Clever puzzles and nice music. A bit short.

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition and Trinity Universe.
RE5 is great, but the tone has really shifted from "RE survival horror" to "RE balls-out action and occasional horror elements". Not that I mind much. I find myself grindin certain sections just to amass bullets and enough gold for upgrades just to survive certain parts of early Chapter 2. God damn that Chainsaw Majini.
As for Trinity Universe, it's.... uh, exactly what would happen if Gust, NIS and Idea Factory got it on.

Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
I didn't like what Capcom did to the inventory system. The one they used in RE4 was fine. Plus, the AI for Sheva wasn't that good. If you have a chance to play co-op with a friend, do it. Hope Capcom will return to their horror roots in the next game.Agozer wrote:RE5 is great, but the tone has really shifted from "RE survival horror" to "RE balls-out action and occasional horror elements". Re: WHAT GAMES ARE YOU PLAYING THESE DAYS
Yeah, the invenory system is a bit of a letdown, though not a huge step down since all items take up only a single spot and are stackable to some extent. The bigger gripe is that you can only give and receive items in bulk, instead of choosing how many to give/receive.snkcube wrote:I didn't like what Capcom did to the inventory system. As far as Sheva's AI goes, I think it's not that bad. Then again, I don't know how many times that AI has been patched prior to the Gold Edition coming out. The biggest problem is that she rarely switches weapons or uses grenades of any kind. Then again, if she did, she might decide to only use grenades, depleting the stock fast.
Chapters are rally long. Even the individual chapter parts are long.

this, although i got mine at walmart when the price dropped early - best of both worlds!badinsults wrote:I got a bunch of free NES games on my 3DS.
mk9: surprisingly entertaining (the last one i played was mk3, and didn't really care for it). i'm highly impressed by the effort put into the single-player game. story's done, and almost done the challenge tower; all that's left is ermac vs 3x goro, quan chi vs quan chi while confused, and the final challenge (endurance match + the computer randomly buffs itself or debuffs you every 5 seconds).
mvc3: my nephew got it, it's a blast. x-23 is awesome. my niece can do evil, evil things and is currently the one to beat.Ermac wrote:We do not think this is very fair.
Why yes, my shift key *IS* broken.

Trails in the Sky.
Why did no one TELL ME that the very first scene in the game involves the main character repeatedly goomba-stomping an injured person for not acting injured enough?!?!?!
