AMD & NV drivers - now with OpenGL 4.2 & OpenCL 1.1 support

Even if it's Adobe's fault for doing something weird or incorrect, a user program shouldn't be able to cause lockups and bluescreens.
Maybe these people were born without that part of their brain that lets you try different things to see if they work better. --Retsupurae

It is pissing me off nonetheless. It's probably going to get worse before it gets better.
Considering that modern flash based websites like Hulu effectively require you to be up to date with Flash, this is getting more annoying by each update.
Edit: Linkage for the Adobe blame info would be nice.
2nd Edit - For those who aren't aware to confirm that this is not an anomoly:

270 series introduce random crashing when playing The Settlers 7 for a couple hours, 275 series of drivers introduce crashing that can occur within minutes of starting a level, haven't really tested the 280 or 285 series with this particular game.I.S.T. wrote:Also, while I don't run XP very often, post 260.xx runs fine on my system.Deathlike2 wrote:I've been very pissed off at NVidia's XP drivers post 260.xx series. There are Flash issues that occur... including browser freezing/OS unresponsiveness/BSODs.
I know this is an XP whine, but tbh, these things shouldn't happen.
Also, in the 270.xx series that I've used last... the freaking driver updating stuff seems to be massively bugged (at least some error message comes with it when I check a setting). Very annoying crap.
275 does this before eventually crashing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMsNy7llD6k

Solution: Give up on Windows XP. Disregard the sub-5fps performance loss of upgrading to Windows 7.

Windows XP is old and has had its time. Last week, I got angry enough at programs not working properly and installed Windows 7. Smooth as butter.
<pagefault> i'd break up with my wife if she said FF8 was awesome

<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

My post indicated that my usage of XP was rare, so I doubt it was me.

It's not going any better for Windows 7 according to others.

It's getting worse before it's getting better. The above link is from an NVidia fansite... so it's not exactly cherry picking these kinds of complaints.
