Which ZSNES do I need to extract sprites? Layer removal...
Which ZSNES do I need to extract sprites? Layer removal basically is what I need. I would appreciate the help!

Not really. Only if you think that packing 1..4-bit pixels into one byte is some sort of compression.
Maybe it's still useful for him - eg. Metroid has many uncompressed graphics.

vSNES is a savestate viewer. It can view the image and peces of what was on the screen when the savestate was taken. Download it and give it a try to see for yourself.
