snes keypad with usc converter win vista
I plugged in my new controller( usb adapter to snes controller) and it automatically recognized it as hardware, however when I went to play the game none of the buttons would work including the select and start button. I went to control panel--> game consuls--> Configure usb and one of the 17 times I tried to configure using the settings it actually worked. However I went to play the game right after and it was completely unresponsive to it.
Please help!!!

Did you assign the controls within ZSNES? The emulator will not automatically reconfigure itself to use a gamepad just because one is plugged in.

I did not, can you walk me through the process or perhaps have a website that's helpful please?

Re: snes keypad with usc converter win vista
I went through the stated operations from the read me section however when I finished my programing of keys for my keyboard/ gamepad it still will not allow me to use my snes controller, I followed instructions and double checked using the ehow article
http://www.ehow.com/how_4523552_configu ... zsnes.html
I selected set keys and the computer acted as if I hadn't pressed a button but after a check it reads my hid for the snes controller and it's showing up. Could it be the controller and if it is why did it work (albeit imperfectly) once?

Did you select keyboard/gamepad and click SET? Also, did you do this on the #1 tab?
Maybe these people were born without that part of their brain that lets you try different things to see if they work better. --Retsupurae

Re: snes keypad with usc converter win vista
I have tried it both ways with the same results. I have gone so far as uninstall sxnes and reinstall it. restart the computer and load it again to set the keys, to have the same non responsiveness happen.
yes I'm sure it's the right zsnes for my system

Re: snes keypad with usc converter win vista
just to clarify, it doesn't consistently work even in the Windows control panel? if that's the case, return the controller as defective.slytherin05 wrote:I went to control panel--> game consuls--> Configure usb and one of the 17 times I tried to configure using the settings it actually worked.
