i have no clue how to fix this thing in IE, so in my frustration I used Nach's idead as well as added some graphical links to Firefox. See for yourself: http://richardc.silohware.com/

if anyone knows how i can fix this, please help. i'd love for our fellow IE users (poor souls, get Firefox!) to be able to view the manual correctly, since i have a feeling that the people these documents will be most useful to will be using IE.

Try adding IE7 to the docs.

The second Firefox button seems to not show on many pages due to a slight error in the HTML.

I feel like I should help with something. Is there a possibility of me helping with the documentation?
Sony's PSP may have superior hardware, but like many other systems, it doesn't focus on quality in their games. The Nintendo DS will prevail in the gaming department!

The FAQ is still the obsolete one, though. I don't have any HTML dev tools, but shall I try to hack the corrections into the page?

Uh, no hacking is necessary. All you need is a decent text editor, like Notepad2 or Metapad. Even standard Notepad will work.

Okay, kevman, I suggest you try to insert the corrections into the Zsnes 1.40 FAQ. If not, could you show me which ones need to be fixed up?

Have you guys tried a good HTML Validator, such as CSE HTML Validator ?
You can download a free evaluation copy here:
http://download8.htmlvalidator.com/csesetup.exe

Here is a list of the top 5 HTML Validators:
http://webdesign.about.com/cs/htmlvalid ... dators.htm

Anyway, here are some general mistakes I see with both Firefox and IE.

The "What's New" Line that states:
***- Unicode support partially supported. Will complete later. [pagefault]
The *** need to come out
(that's my fault, from my what's new .txt http://www.geocities.com/ldawgzsnes/wha ... _rev01.txt
sorry about that)

Also, the "Current Progress" Sound Section has some indenting issues

The following are present in sound:

- 16bit digital stereo sound
- SPC700 Sound CPU
- DSP Sound Processor
------------------------------ BELOW THIS LINE HAS INDENTING ISSUES --------------
- Echo Effects
- FIR Filter
- ADSR volume effects
- GAIN volume effects
- Noise effects
- Pitch Modulation

That's basically what I meant. Try and figure it out in Notepad. I know next to no HTML.

I'll get on that tommorow. The FAQ I modified and the list of changes are earlier in this thread, towards the beginning.

If someone will post an updated FAQ, I'll be more than happy to put it in the docs myself.

Also, for all of the posts about HTML errors. They had something to due with the FTP client and server I'm using. Didn't upload entire file, or garbled stuff up. Everything checks out now according to W3C's XHTML and CSS validators.

LDAWG: Thanks for the input, but I know the problems in Internet Explorer (I use XP after all), I just don't know how to fix them. If anyone knows how, please say so!

kevman wrote:I misunderstood what you wanted, and modified the FAQ directly.
My modified FAQ is at http://www.geocities.com/kevmanzsnes/ZSNESFAQ.TXT.

Here is a list of what I did:

Questions Added:

Q: Why don't my settings get saved after I close Zsnes?
Q: Why don't Street Fighter Alpha 2 and Star Ocean work right in ZSNES?
Q: How do I apply the Street Fighter Alpha 2 graphics pack in ZSNES?
Q: How do I apply the Star Ocean graphics pack in ZSNES?
Q: I used the auto .IPS patching feature, and now the game doesn't work.
Q: How do I convert .ZMV movies to AVI/DIVX/WMV/MPEG?
Q: Can you make a Mac/PocketPC/PS2/whatever port?

Questions that have had the answers changed:

Q: Can you guys get Pilotwings/Star Ocean/Street Fighter Alpha 2 to work?
Q: How come the game genie codes don't work?
Q: Why is ZSNES slow?
Q: Why do I get a black (or corrupted) box when I start up ZSNESw?

Hope it is of help anyway.

This post subject to change without notice.
?? This has been here for weeks. Wait, though, there is one more question I want to add about refresh rates.

Interesting, but the supposed IE errors display correctly for me, no problems mentioned at all. I run Windows XP with IE 6 SP2. I wonder why this is?

Yah that is the thing I checked first actually, since grinvader showed that it had problems (I think in another thread). Here's a link to how it looks on my computer, to me this seems 100% correct isn't it?

Wow, that DOES look better. Oookay...so, what's the next thing to do? Is is getting even closer to the Zsnes release?

Okay, sorry I asked that. Guess it slipped. (Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!)
I meant to ask "Are the documents coming along nicely?"

You know, you're just making the 1.40 release push back even further by asking when it's going to be release....

First of all, I am NOT trying to push the release date further! (Frikin' idiot!)
And secondly, I do not wish to be threatened with such slanderous words.
Got that, grinvader and all other people who responded to my post!!!? I just want to know about the documents, is that so hard?

You are, by asking.

What kind of words would you prefer?

that is exactly how it is supposed to look. im very surprised! can you tell me the version of your IE as reported by Help -> About? I'd love to see why it looks so different on yours. mine's v6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158.

Ok then, let me see, it's 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158. Hmm, appears to be the same as yours. I wonder what else it could be really? I haven't looked, it is just html code in the document?
