Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the DOS and Linux docs are next.
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?
NSRT here.

Shouldn't

Code: Select all

- Cleaned up, overhauled , removed , and ported a lot of code (asm to C). This includes optimizations to complex loading functions, syntax, memory init (Thanks kode54), execution, and initialization code. We now have fixed PAL/NTSC detection. [pagefault, MKendora, Nach]

Good. Keep scrutinizing, guys!

If IceFox doesn't have time, I'll upload a fixed package tomorrow morning before I leave on vacation.

On the line

Code: Select all

- Many new video features, including (but not limited to): HQ2X, HQ3X and HQ4X graphic filters, support for hi-res and D modes in 32bpp windowed mode (now default), new aspect ratio code for scaling, and the KitchenSync (usable only via the commandline). [MaxSt, pagefault, Darkfalz]
It should be

I added a comma after HQ3X. Am I right?

Sorry, it's just the most annoying spelling mistake ever.

After getting off work, I noticed that 1.40 still hasn't been released (I thought it was coming out today :P). So I found the time to fix some stupid mistakes in the what's new (removed entries I forgot to delete), as well as grammar errors that snkcube mentioned. In this revision, I was on a roll - I made a few "minor, yet major" changes to some of the wording, plus some more grammar fixes.

The release is on my site.

I was planning on releasing today, but I don't even have Linux or DOS docs, which were promised to me by yesterday and never showed up.

Here. I changed a couple of things in the CSS. Notably, the Windows logo doesn't disappear as the width of the page is reduced. I also added Clements to the doc contributors.

Note that this required changes to all of the files, not just the style sheet.

I just can't stop. :P

I modified the indentation to look a bit more like RichardC's original. I think that's it.

Uploaded, as well as more changes I made to gui.htm (such as making all occurences of capitalized file extensions to lowercase, eg. .SMC to .smc)

Also, I took out the "FINAL" in the filename; we'll say that we're now at Release 2. Apparently, with all these revisions, it isn't final. ;)

Also, has anyone taken a close look at quick.png? There is a black-dashed line across it, as well as some black dots. :?

about.htm: Firefox logos at bottom
credits.htm: same thing
readme.htm: bugs section to fix indenting
style.css

I moved the CSS out of the page and into the style sheet. Absolutely no visual effect at the moment, but if it needs to be changed, one edit takes care of all the pages.

Here's a fixed quick.png.

I squeezed in some more tiny changes, Release 4 is out. Sorry, Clements.

This is my last update today. I probably won't have time to do any tomorrow, either. I may have a chance on Christmas Day, but 1.40 will probably be released by then.

Are you sure that it is entirely necessary to have port-specific documentation for both Linux and DOS before the release of 1.40? I mean, most of the things covered in the Windows version of the docs is applicable to the other two, so perhaps that could suffice for a short while until the other versions are made available.

Just offering a suggestion—one that you have absolutely no obligation to follow. ;)
