Star Ocean problem freezing

Post by TypeCasted234 »

Hey maybe you guys can help me out, I think somehow my saved game became corrupt in a realy weird way, this is what happens i was playing the game and it all of the sudden froze, so i hit f4 and loaded my last quick save then i took like 10 steps and i froze again, so i tried just standing there even speeding up time and its fine but once i take exactly 10 steps it freezes.

1) What version of ZSNES?

2) What game(s)?

3) Don't rely on savestates.

Star Ocean (translated with latest patch from dejap)

Latest version of zsnes (i think 1.40)

The save states are usualy relyable and ive only had this happen 2 other times and unfortunatly i actualy care this time

starocean will almost always freeze if you use savestates. just save the old fashioned way

That page seems a bit out dated.

Anything I can do to not lose the state? I am in the end of the game alread... I have a old fashion save game not too old, but I am lazy...

Sure you can. If it saves the players location somewhere in it you could alter it if you knew how it works. How I do it is I compare different save states/sram to see what changed in the file then I change stuff with a hex editor to see if it will do what I wanted it to. It's a really slow process but I'm sure the more experenced people would probably do it a different way.
