hi
i've noticed that the 1.40 version includes a "motion blur" effect
i just wanted to know how to activate it .
* - Added motion blur (Thanks ipher for fixing the entry in the GUI). [pagefault]
does it require 16 bits display or something ?
thx in advance .

That's a good question.
Looking at Agozer's ZSNES changelog:
ZSNES WIP March 11 (MODIFIED)
Note by ipher: the only changes were done by me, i moved the Motion Blur setting (caused the garbage on the Video screen). you MUST press M to activate Motion Blur, also, it only works for R and S modes, NOT D modes... i suggest you wait for a real fix by someone that knows what they are doing before using this version, because it might be unstable (im not a coder)
and
ZSNES WIP March 16
# Timing update fix (Pagefault)
# Fix motion blur text in GUI (Pagefault)
That's all I can find about this...

Apparently it was experimental code, and it was eventually removed.

Yeah it was removed since it didn't work too well. However I can put it back in if people really want it, I can borrow the code from VBA.

There still seems to be a lot of left over code related to motion blur throughout the source. We should remove it if we don't want it.

Motion blur gives me a headache on some other emulators.
What is it supposed to simulate anyway? LCD ghosting?

I think so, but more blur. much motion blur makes the game look neat and smooth.

Well, that's what it does. I don't think it simulates anything.
You use the backbuffer as transparent layer over the current one. Makes all the wobbly stuff in recent games.

Motion blur isn't that great.
Try out CCleaner and other free software at Piriform

I have to agree. When I tested out the different emulators that have the motion blue effect, I wasn't impressed.
Meh.
