the only update you care about is "click here to download", anyway. would be a waste of time.

You're better off moving on to another (and far superior) emulator IMHO.Realord wrote:Oh, really? So... I have one question. Just use Snes9x 1.53 in the mean time, really not that hard to comprehend.Realord wrote:It's always nice when the most recent version was released 7 *YEARS* ago.grinvader wrote:It's always nice when people don't even read what you write.

It's fun to check people's "last visited" time stamp.
Moreso when they make a big show of ragequitting and then keep logging in to check things out afterwards.

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
Hi, I'm in3D. I've used ZSNES for a long time and assumed there would never be another release, but then I found this topic. Mind blown! It's been in development all this time. Frankly I don't understand the people coming here and doubting the dev status of the project. Just the fact that Grinvader still posts is evidence enough for me, and I can wait. Also, pretty cool that this topic has stayed alive for 5 years with no epic bumps.
Anywho, I have a question: Since ZSNES 2.0 will be written in a higher level language, will it be possible to port it all over the place like Snes9X? It'd be really cool to see it on Android.
I also have an idea to temporarily please the idiots asking for a release: Rebrand Snes9X as ZSNES 2.0a and release it. Anyone dumb enough to ask for a release like that won't notice.

That's the idea, although we probably won't do the ports ourselves.in3D wrote:Anywho, I have a question: Since ZSNES 2.0 will be written in a higher level language, will it be possible to port it all over the place like Snes9X? It'd be really cool to see it on Android.

No biggie. The semi-devs can do that. You guys stick to the coding.grinvader wrote:we probably won't do the ports ourselves.

Ask about when it will be released a new version of a program, is cause for ban?Gil_Hamilton wrote:*blinks*

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
I keep wondering if zsnes is finally dead.
I mean it has gotten to the point where snes9x is so much more accurate while yet still fast for most games that zsnes is pretty much considered a joke.
It really kinda sucks imho since zsnes set so many standards and pretty much is the soul factor to why snes emulation got so far.
Will we ever see that day of 2.00 when zsnes is comparably accurate to snes9x again? Even if it uses per game hacks and settings?

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
MESS is much more accurate than either of them at this point so you're better off just using that.

Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
I guess but I could use SNESGT or BSNES if I truly gave a shit about accuracy. I actually care about zsnes in itself.
I dont like the concept that the goal was to rewrite most of zsnes into C.
I think the sound core from bsnes should be rewrote into assembler. Wasnt the whole point of zsnes speed.
Hell theres a video on youtube still of someone running zsnes on a pentium at full speed. You simply wont get that out of any other emulator.

If you want more accurate than snes9x, get higan. Not MESS.

I only really play any SNES game by ZSNES emu
as far as CPU's go I the 2nd to last PC I had come to me was an old Compaq Presario 2510
had a
- 300MHz AMD K6-2 Mehhh.. I could get "OK" frame rates with a highly optimized self-complied version of it (I have a MinGW compiler set up always ;D )
on my last PC from 2006 a used Gateway/oem that came my way..
CPU: 800MHz - Intel Pentium 3
upgraded it to have:
- 512 MB of Crucial PC133 SDRAM memory (2x 256MB)(2-2-2 timings....)
- ATI Radeon 9800SE 128MB AGP 4x/8x
it ran ZSNES P.E.R.F.E.C.T. 60FPS at ALL TIMES ;;^_^;;
I cried for the first time ever I could run ANY SNES game via emu without it L.A.G.G.I.N.G.
and I still did local Release-grade compiles for "Pentium3"
I have cmd batch files setup to compile zsnes in any grade I want
and another set to run builds through gdb (knowing how to run the GNU Debugger gdb) ^_^ =D
Re: ZSNES is not dead - Still in development
GENIUS, I did not ask where is "mah" emulator. I initially asked him where the last release is hidden (somebody said here that seven days and not seven years have passed since the last version was released, which we know is a lie).Gil_Hamilton wrote:Being a raging jackass is. I'll repeat: the last version was RELEASED 7 YEARS ago. I'm not a developer, if there are hackers working in the code during those 7 YEARS and no any version has been RELEASED for DOWNLOAD, that and nothing are the same thing.
Conclusion: ZSNES is still under development, developers are still without releasing a single alpha in all that time.
