Here is what I did so far.

First, I go to Config. Then, I go to Saves.

Here is the "Save Options" dialog box.

I point to the "Save" state shortcut, click it, and it told me to press the key (or button) I want to use. I chose the "F1" key.

And it happened. Nothing is there. It is not working. No "F1" key.
I used ZSNES v1.51 (Windows).

Much like escape, F1 cannot be bound to other keys, as it has a hardwired use.
