Will the 7z format be supported in the future?
Hello,
Not sure if someone already asked this but I am wondering if support for ROMs in the .7z compression format will be supported in a future version. The compression ratio is quite a lot better than .zip and for people with many ROMs this could really save a lot of sidk space. Any thoughts?

Yes.. why do you want to use 7-zip? If you're looking for better compression, JMA already beats the pants off 7-zip and is already supported in ZSNES.

Yeah, Nach took great care in creating the best compression algorithm for your ROMs. I believe Nach did some comparison testing. He can tell you more.kilivipin wrote:I'm sure JMA beats that too.Neo Kaiser wrote:What abouth ACE?

Speaking of JMA..
Has anyone even figured out what that stands for?

<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?

JMA is better than everything else for snes roms. Except, of course, BARF. But this one is just cheating anyway.

All popular formats fail in comparison to the size savings JMA offers.
JMA is also now available.

Can't wait for the future version, JGA Giga Archive, with compression approaching BARF!
The only archiver as good as BARF is a CD burner...
