You know, I think I must be doing something wrong. My 'Cube and Wii libraries are pretty large, despite having neither Mario nor Zelda for either.

Ah, I thought it was another in the grander scheme, as it's usually used.odditude wrote:i was referring more specifically to the Wii U.
I don't have a Wii U yet. There's a few games I want for it(Bayonetta!), none of which are Mario or Zelda... well, maybe Mario Kart.

I can't believe the forums are still up and running even if they haven't been too lively lately.

Joined September 2015? You joined after they died, of course they haven't been lively lately.

If you were a moderator, you'd see that they've been jumping off the charts with all the spam that never becomes visible to the search engines or the regular users. I just disapproved over 250 spam messages posted in the past 48 hours by a handful of users.
Man, I wish I could get server access and upgrade this forum to ElkArte, with proper spam fighting capabilities, and at least some form of registration and DNSBL capability. Of course, it probably wouldn't bring any new people here.

While that is not WHY I never requested my powers be restored, I am glad I don't have to deal with that shit.

Re: Reply to this thread.
What I really want is SSH access to the server, so I can fix this problem in the most hardcore way I know:
- Put the forum in maintenance mode to lock it.
- Install nginx as the default httpd, if not already.
- Set up Let's Encrypt for the board.zsnes.com subdomain.
- Back up the database.
- Install SMF.
- Use SMF importer to import from phpBB database.
- Verify the SMF looks sane, run any integrity checks, etc.
- Install ElkArte, my forum script of choice. (See HydrogenAudio for a fine example of this. Even has a nice dark theme, which I'll make the default here.)
- Use OpenImporter to import from SMF to ElkArte.
- Verify and clean up the forum.
- Install and enable various things, like StopForumSpam, including at the server level if possible, using OpenResty.
- Open the new forum up to the world.
- Rejoice.

Re: Reply to this thread.
That is not the most hardcore way to fix the problem.
The most hardcore way is to take over the world, install yourself as a steel-fisted dictator, and EXECUTE SPAMMERS.

Re: Reply to this thread.
I still am used to this style of phpBB3 forum, it's one of the most simple forum softwares to use as an end-user out there, unless you are talking about the ACP which is a mess!
Also the hardcore method is to use something like AcmlmBoard 2, but you wouldn't be able to convert the posts over easily, -.-

Re: Reply to this thread.
So, did anyone buy the famous NES mini? I haven't.
And did you know there's also a Sega equivalent that's not getting as much attention?
How long do you think it will take for someone to "modify" the little console so that other "game image" can be used?

It is not possible. They sold out in six minutes.Silensho wrote:So, did anyone buy the famous NES mini? I haven't.

A. Sega's been doing it for literally years now,
B. The Sega version is a hardware clone with significant sound glitching instead of an emulator with slight sound glitching(Firecore clone has audio issues, and has since the chip first premiered in 2008), and
C. Everyone hates Sega.
Given a japanese guy installed Linux on his almost as fast as US stock sold out? Not too long. How long do you think it will take for someone to "modify" the little console so that other "game image" can be used?

Re: Reply to this thread.
And now a japanese guy has installed his NES Mini inside an original GameBoy shell. And everyone has installed arbitrary ROM images on their NES Minis. Shockingly, the thing demonstrates limited mapper support. They DIDN'T just copy someone else's source.
