earthworm jim 2 bug

Post by thegreatswami »

i noticed something especially weird with every earth worm jim 2 rom ive downloaded. even the roms found to not be corrupted in any way happen to have the same kind of sound glitching. when i load and play the rom with zsnes 1.36, the sound is audible most of the time, but with certain effects such as the snot parachute, the snot swing, selection movement at the main menu, and many others, the sound effect stutters consistently, along with the game freezing at random points in time. I ran the rom in zsnes 1.42 and now, the same sounds that had the stutter effect in 1.36 now only play the first little blip of the sound effect, so it is barely audible in 1.42. the game also randomly freezes in zsnes 1.42, and it might not be quite as much, but i cant tell for sure about that. this is one of my favorite games for snes and i really would appreciate any comments on this or suggestions/ patches for this game i might have missed. thanks[/code]

It's a timing issue with ZSNES. It has been mentioned already.

so does that mean that its just going to be dismissed? or that zsnes team is in the process of working on this problem with games with these glitches? or that they will in the future?

thanks. Im kind of embarrased because as soon as i posted the last reply i looked in the official bug reports thread, and saw it listed there, and then went and looked in the sourceforge and saw it listed in there too.

I thought that might happen. :)

It's a bug I'd really like to see fixed, too. EWJ2 is awesome.

I thought there were reports of EWJ2, being a glichy game on the real cart, I played it and didn't have any problems, but still people have said that.

I've heard the same thing, although I doubt is as glitchy on a cart as it is in ZSNES.
whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

I have the cart, and so far ( I didn't really play that much ) I have no problem of it on the real SNES...

Might wanna try to dump the cart's content.. then I remember that my copier is not really working :x

This game uses features of the SNES which are not fully emulated yet in ZSNES. So until then the game will not have proper sound.
