Which resolutions do you use/want to use?
[EDIT: On second thought, this needs to be a poll as to what resolutions people use.]

256x239
320x240
512x448
512x478
640x480
768x672

1280x960
1280x1024

[EDIT: Yes, I'm aware that some of these aren't actually in ZSNES right now, but the ones that aren't will be, and the modes that aren't listed will be removed unless someone can demonstrate that we *must* support them.]

No, since either my monitor and/or drivers does not seem to support such a low resolution. ZSNES crashes when I select 256x224 R Full.
Edit: Since this thread has changed a bit since I posted: I always use 1280x1024, 60Hz+vsync+HQ4x.

If someone removes 800x600, they have a death wish.

Because it's a standard res that works on machines with 15" monitors and stuff like I have lying around.Vareni Stargazer wrote:Why must we support 800x600?Nach wrote:If someone removes 800x600, they have a death wish.

I use ZSNES on two computers. For one I have to use 320x240, in the DOS version, to make it as fast as possible. Resolutions any lower than that aren't faster, because they aren't Vesa2. ModeQ doesn't work at all; it just makes it unviewable. ModeX, whatever that is, has to stay; ZSNES defaults to it when VESA2 doesn't work, such as under WinXP or on a PC that doesn't have MMX support (since the option is enabled in ZSNES by default).
By the way, could Vesa2 and/or ModeX support in 256x224 be added for DOS, since this is the SNES resolution (and because Vesa2 is fastest and ModeQ is incompatible for me)?
The other PC runs the Windows version at full speed, so I stick with 640x480 Full (stretched) to allow for video filters (I prefer Interpolation). I don't need any other resolution for full-screen, really, but my windowed resolution varies.

What about multiple PC users, like me? Someone needs to vouch for those low resolutions... Is that how I should vote?Vareni Stargazer wrote:[EDIT: On second thought, this needs to be a poll as to what resolutions people use.]

Well, the way ZSNES gets its resolution has been unified into one file...finally, so it's possible that we can inflict VESA2 on 256x224.AspiringSquire wrote:By the way, could Vesa2 and/or ModeX support in 256x224 be added for DOS, since this is the SNES resolution (and because Vesa2 is fastest and ModeQ is incompatible for me)?

On my Pentuim MMX boxes, I used to use the lowest setting I could. On my new box, I use 512x384. I don't really need anything too big, or too small, unless I have to.
<Nach> so why don't the two of you get your own room and leave us alone with this stupidity of yours?
