Slowdowns in games

Post by Alfro »

When I play Megaman X, especially on Sting Chameleon's level, I get slowdowns

This is how the game ran on the console, but is there a way to run games without slowdowns with ZSNES?

An emulator emulates a system. If a slowdown occurs on the original system, you can bet it occurs in an emulator as well.

AFAIK, there is no way to remove the slowdown unless a hack is coded into ZSNES itself... and ZSNES uses as few hacks as possible, preferably none at all.

whicker: franpa is grammatically correct, and he still gets ripped on?
sweener2001: Grammatically correct this one time? sure. every other time? no. does that give him a right? not really.

Short answer: no.
Long answer: no, and it's not on the todo list.

Well, it is possible, but it tends to also break things.

Are you thinking about Percent of Execution?

it might work, but it affects the whole game, not just that one spot.

And like it has been said before, setting it to any higher than 100 isn't recommended.

So.. let him try. It's not like you can't just change it back if it breaks everything.

What about setting it lower then 100? Or is that even possible? Does it ruin things also, or just slow everything down? Just curious, never tried it myself.

IIRC, setting it to lower than 100% for Breath of Fire II seems to fix some of the bugs present in the game.
