What do you want from ZSNES?
Moderator: ZSNES Mods
I would like to have a threat in this board in which you can read all known Bugs, so if someone thinkss to have found a new one, he could look up if the bug is known. It wouldn't be much work I think.
I would like to see a to-do list, but may be a lot of people here can't understand that the features on that list arn't nececcery be realiced.

You mean like theOfficial Bug Topic or theBug Tracker?Player1 wrote:I would like to have a threat in this board in which you can read all known Bugs, so if someone thinkss to have found a new one, he could look up if the bug is known. It wouldn't be much work I think.

The more games that ZSNES correctly emulates the better, IMO. Features are always nice, but it's one thing to be able to play a game and another to have a blinking cursor for text entry. Don't get me wrong I admire the blinking cursor (or more so the work that went into it), but I didn't update ZSNES on that release.

ZSNES supports something even better than 7-Zip: JMA. It's a modified version of 7z designed for SNES ROMs.Zilog Jones wrote:Also, any plans on 7-zip support? It seems to be getting quite popular now, and its compression ratio compared to zip and rar is insane - the good kind of insane.
The only downside is there's only one tool that currently supports it, and it's a bit hard to use. It's called NSRT, and it's a general-purpose tool for doing just about anything with your SNES ROMs.

The main thing that I want ZSNES to do is the following (if it is possible for the developers to program this in the next installment, I'd appreciate it) Here is the list:
1. Do my taxes
2. Take my nursing exams for me
3. Pleasure my wife when I'm not around
4. Wake me up in the morning, since I'm a heavy sleeper
5. Talk to me when I'm lonely and generally be my friend and tell me how handsome I am.
I guess......more game fixes.....would be a distant 2nd choice.

I voted game fixes, of course.
One thing I'd like to know is why some games stop working when you fix another game?
If I'm not completely mistaken, you're not using hacks to fix specific games, but instead you're making emulation more accurate. And if that's the case, then why would more accurate emulation break other games?

I'll try to explain simply.What evar wrote:I voted game fixes, of course.

Code1 -> game1 = broke - game2 = ok (luck) - game3 = ok (luck)
Code2 -> game1 = ok - game2 = broke (heh) - game3 = ok (still luck)
Code3 -> game1 = ok - game2 = ok - game3 = broke
That's a really simple example. Sometimes, a game4 broke with code1 will be ok with code2 and not code3. Which makes knowing what to fix hard.

What is more accurate, but still wrong behavior, is likely acceptable to more games.
But some games that were fine with the old wrong behavior don't like the new wrong behavior, even though it is less wrong than it used to be.
...
And there's always hacks that were designed to make a game run under the wrong behavior that start breaking it when the right behavior is implemented.

In Super Metriod, there is a single row of garbled pixels where the HUD and game area meet. There has a been a guy harassing #zsnes on Efnet about this for months.Noxious Ninja wrote:What is wrong with Metroid?stabbitystab wrote:I want you to..

Note that the "correct" way to get suitless Samus in the NES version was to beat the game.
And there is a patch for Super Metroid to give you a suitless Samus, though I don't believe it's been integrated into even UOSNES.
Why use SDL in the linux version? The scan codes are from X11, not SDL
... It is even better to use some GTK thingies, but you guys must wait until port completely the GUI... More resolutions to the linux version would be cool!
