jma and ips patches

Post by Player1 »

I wrote a threat before about compressing my roms to jma and it is safe. I have now converted all roms to jma and the ips patches which were before in the zip don't work any more, are they deleted or packed in the jma file? can I do anything or do I have to redownload the ips patches?

Maybe you have auto-patch disabled. Auto patching is now an option, it's not automatic. Check in the saves menu in the options menu. Also make sure you have the latest Zsnes.

Of course I have tried, its enabled. I have tested disabled IPS patches too and doesn't work. I can't even see the content of an jma file

To put it short: You are screwed.
Nsrt currencly silently drops every file except the rom, while
repacking.
Have fun looking for the patches !!!

I quote the readme:
NOTES: There may be problems updating zip files that have more than one file in them.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
9) Future Plans
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Seeing as NSRT is an ongoing, never-ending project, we have to make plans for the version to come.
Here is a list of some things that we want to add or improve upon on:

Command-line version:
Changing country/region settings
More IPS Support
NPS (Nach's Patching System) Support
Adding specific copier headers
More game fixes
Never-ending improvements to the database
Recompressing zip files with more than one file
Merging like games into one JMA or zip.
Side note: this isn't JMA related in anyway.

Also, why is this even being posted here? It's not ZSNES related at all.
May 9 2007 - NSRT 3.4, now with lots of hashing and even more accurate information! Go download it.

sorry nach, I didn't know there to post it else. I asked before if it would be safe, and I am said so... I thought I had read that it is possible already, but I think it was just an april fools joke.

I would suggest that NSRT should give you a warning before compressing the files and drop the ips patches.
