bug with Dragon Quest 6

Forgive me as this is my first post, and I'm not sure what all is needed.


The bug is with text dialogs, and has been prevalent so far in the first town. (I havn't progressed past this as I can't read anything)

The bug causes certain text to appear in the text box and blocks all incoming text on subsequint conversations.

The rom checks out as fine, and the bug occures in all three versions I have (Un-patched, De-Jap Patched and NoProgress Patched)

I'm running the latest zsnes, 1.42 Win32.

System (might be the problem) Is a Celeron 733 with i810 graphics chipset.

I've tested all three versions with snes9x and it works fine. No bug.
(I downloaded it just to test this rom. Controler support sucks for me with snes9x. So does the sound.)

I hope I've provided enough information. I could post a movie showing the problem if somebody would kindly tell me how. (Never knew zsnes could do that, and I've been using it for years)

I'm not sure how but I fixed it.

I was tinkering with some of the options and enabled Old GFX Mode 2,
disabled New GFX Mode, and it seems to work.

Not sure if this a bug, or just something that is not fully supported yet.

Disabling new gfx engine and enabling old gfx mode 2 is also the way to 'fix' Tactics Ogre's status window.
So those two issues might be related and fixed together (once pf knows what to do).
