Both the SNES and PSX versions run rather fine, though the PSX version does occationally hang during some battles.
Grin, I knew that Sakimoto worked on both games (I <3 Sakimoto's music) but I never knew that Rezon worked on FFT as well.

Is anyone planning to apply the official translation to the SNES ROM, though? (Or have they done it already?)Nightcrawler wrote:To my knowledge current as of a few months ago. NO ONE is working on Tactics Ogre at present time. Not DeJap, and not LordTech.
That was the idea that LordTech was going to put into action. However.. official script or not, you still need to do all the hacking work which is quite a bit in this game. All work on it has ceased at this point because of it.AspiringSquire wrote:Is anyone planning to apply the official translation to the SNES ROM, though? That would overall be better than playing the PS1 port of the game, I think.
Seconded. I will reiterate that I made comparisons on my copier and PSX and load times were virtually identical and differed by a max of about 1 second, but in most places was identical! The two games were otherwise comparable in everyway. The graphics and sound were identical as far as I could tell of the parts I played.DarkDragoon wrote:The PS1 port of the game is perfectly fine, anyway.

<jmr> bsnes has the most accurate wiki page but it takes forever to load (or something)
By comparing emulated versus emulated, you are at the mercy of flaws in the emulation of SPC and PSF's.grinvader wrote:Well, the PSF tunes are somewhat not like the SPC ones (on some echo effects), but they follow the same melodies.
that is exactly why i want to play it on psp!!!! i mean.... all the other strategy games on the snes is kinda boring... cept maybe fire emblem...ArchAngel704 wrote:The thing is, is that like myself, many people like to play SNES on PSP, now that its available. So Im BEGGING someone lol, just take the PSX dialogue and edit it into the SNES version. I know it has been attempted and the menu's and such are still needed, but the entire emulation world for PSP would greatly appreciate it!
It's not that easy to translate a game and you can't request a translation in this forum.ArchAngel704 wrote:The thing is, is that like myself, many people like to play SNES on PSP, now that its available. Ah.. Don't you love when someone just kills himself easily?ArchAngel704 wrote:First of all, if anything I am, loser is not one of them. Secondly, incase you are that near sighted, Emulation has exceeded to just a select few people. Everyone I know uses emulation in the Real World, and I live in the middle of Bum Fucked Egypt. One of the best games for SNES just happens to be in Japa-fucken-ese, with an english generation that can be used as an example. Would you rather it be a completely japanese game straight out of the rice house?
All Im asking is someone be generous enough to bring the project back. If anything was a waste, its translating Pokemon games and Chrono Trigger, what fucking sense are those? Think before speaking, jerkoff.
-Thank you.
umm.... how come u spell project like that? is it something japanese-y? (utada...)Joe Camacho wrote:
First of all, Dejap is *NOT* translating Tactics Ogre, Darkforce was/is collaborating with someone in that proyect, but it's not a 100% Dejap proyect.
Dejap is not retranslating CT, and the Pokémon proyect
most of the posters are against said proyect
while someone gets the proyect finished
Sorry, rant over. Carry on.
He's mexican, give him a break. But what Joe said couldn't be more true.paranoiaboi07 wrote:umm.... how come u spell project like that? is it something japanese-y? (utada...)Joe Camacho wrote:

OK, I'm sorry but FUCK YOU! I Translate Pokemon games! Thats a fucking insult. Chrono Trigger is a completely different angle, my point against it is them just leaving behind a bunch of predone work. It's their fucking project and they can do what they want with it. Ever hear of the Tales of Phantasia dub? That little project there got me hatemail for months, but it was still a fun experience. People like me do this as a hobby, not to let some weirdo play games on his PSP. Youd be much better off writing a psx emulator for it so you can play ps1 ISOs. Then you'll have your freaking game. But right now, what your asking is totaly selfish and greedy. If you really want to play the SNES version, just learn Japanese. Your only insulting us by trying to push us around like we are your bitch or something. Now go play your PSP before it falls apart/spontainiously combusts (sp?)/gets stolen. Lord knows it will, and I'll be fucking happy too...ArchAngel704 wrote:All Im asking is someone be generous enough to bring the project back.
